Congratulations to Steve Dent, a visiting artist whose Resilient in the Snow earns a Gallery Pick. Photographed during a winter trip to Yellowstone in temperatures reaching minus fifteen degrees, the image captures a fox standing alone in a vast snowfield. Its warm color contrasts beautifully with winter’s cool, muted tones, while subtle background textures keep our attention on the animal. The carefully captured shadow grounds the fox and adds depth to the composition. Together, these elements convey the quiet determination of wildlife enduring harsh conditions and reflect Steve’s adventurous spirit and photographic skill.

Image City Photography Gallery is pleased to present Reggie Greene and Gerry Iuppa in “Visions of Wonder,” exhibiting through November 1. Their complementary collections invite viewers to slow down and discover how light reveals the beauty, mystery, and emotion of familiar places.
In “Moments of Wonder,” Gerry Iuppa celebrates quiet beauty, nature’s resilience, and the experience of being fully present. His photographs explore calm lakes, mysterious woodlands, city streets, aging buildings, and intricate details. Whether capturing sunlight in a shadowed forest or autumn colors along a lakeshore, Gerry conveys both the appearance of a place and the feeling of being there. His work reminds us that beauty emerges when we take time to truly see.
In “Night Visions,” Reggie Greene explores landscapes transformed by porch lights, glowing windows, and streetlights. Artificial illumination reveals textures and surfaces while leaving much concealed in shadow. Although people are often absent, their presence lingers in illuminated spaces, inviting viewers to imagine the private lives unfolding beyond the frame.
Together, these photographers reveal light’s power to shape our experience of the world. “Visions of Wonder” encourages visitors to pause, look again, and recognize the beauty and mystery surrounding us in everyday places and unexpected moments.

Congratulations to d dargan teska, whose photograph “Morning Light" garners a Gallery Pick. An old stone arch frames three small subjects on a ledge: two rounded forms flanking a taller plant. Their arrangement draws the eye across the image and gives its symmetry a gentle rhythm. Rough masonry contrasts with the delicate organic shapes, while morning light brings out subtle shifts in texture and shadow. The arch lends the scene a sense of history and order, but small variations keep it lively. With restraint and careful framing, d dargan turns an ordinary moment into a quiet invitation to look more closely. “Perfect Arc” Dana Emery’s black-and-white photograph transforms a highway interchange into a study of isolation, scale, and geometry. Entering from the upper left, the elevated roadway sweeps dramatically across the frame, creating movement and guiding the viewer’s eye. The expansive black sky and deep shadows beneath the bridge become essential parts of the subject, making the concrete structures appear imposing. Two massive vertical supports anchor the composition and contrast with the roadway’s arc. More than a record of infrastructure, “Perfect Ar uses darkness, emptiness, and monumental form suggest a metaphor for isolation. Congratulations on your Gallery Pick, Dana. Congratulations to Steve Dent, whose image “Sahara Desert,” received a Gallery Pick. Part of Steve’s collection of photographs taken in Africa, this image draws us into a scene that feels both timeless and full of story. The vast desert landscape establishes a strong sense of place, while the people moving through it give the photograph scale, life and a human connection. Adam Eaton is awarded a Gallery Pick for his photography celebrating the beauty of Black people and honoring the community that shaped him. In a departure from our usual practice of highlighting a single photograph by a guest artist, White mats and black frames establish a consistent visual rhythm throughout Adam’s exhibition. Soft lighting and shadow guide the viewer’s attention, allowing subtle details to emerge. Spanning generations, the collection ranges from babies in utero to an elder statesman of the Rochester community. Intimate facial studies, wider portraits, and silhouettes provide the varied movements of a symphony. Each subject contributes a distinct expression or gesture, while the collection forms a harmonious celebration of community, love, honesty, and beauty. Together, the portraits affirm Adam’s central belief: “You’re beautiful. You’re a work of art.”
