Join the Metro Library for a genre-bending performance, followed by a panel discussion about the role of dance in contemporary art. This event is in conjunction with the exhibition Choose Your Own Adventure: The Art of the Art by Denise Duong and Gabriel Friedman which features sketches and models by the artists. It offers a behind the scenes glimpse of the creation process for their large-scale public art. This show is inspired by their recent and largest effort, Formless Matter and Its Devastating Gestures, in Campbell Art Park. You'll get to see the planning, experimentation and artistry that go into making over 25 of the Oklahoma City artists’ sculptures and murals come to life.

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we recognize the histories, cultures, and enduring contributions of Indigenous communities, while honoring the traditions and stories carried across generations.

This November, Oklahoma Contemporary welcomes Raven Halfmoon: Flags of Our Mothers, the first major traveling exhibition for Norman-born artist Raven Halfmoon. A citizen of the Caddo Nation who is also Choctaw, Delaware, and Otoe-Missouria, Halfmoon creates monumental stoneware sculptures exploring tradition, history, gender, and personal experience. Her work draws from Caddo pottery traditions while honoring generations of women who have carried those traditions and stories forward.

Light, rhythm, pattern, and perception come together in Chad Mount: Frequency and Perspective.

Through projection mapping, laser light, generative visuals, and sound, Oklahoma artist Chad Mount transforms the Oklahoma Gallery into an immersive environment that shifts with the way we see and experience the space.

Inspired by natural systems, meditation, and moments of “micro-awe,” Mount invites us to slow down, look closer, and discover something unexpected.
