Benvoa Anastasia Benveniste is an Australian artist who combines of classical art, design and doodle tangents. Her work invites viewers to slow down and look closely.

Anastasia Benveniste is an Adelaide-based artist with a practice centred around labour-intensive, highly detailed drawing in classical realism and intricate abstract linework. Inspired by anatomy, patterns and nature, Anastasia’s love of slow, repetitive mark-making and precise technique creates pieces that are both quiet and intense.

Drawing homework at a classical art school in New York 〰️ I’m drawing this pelvis from life, from the front and side view while also learning the names of all the parts to the pelvis for an upcoming test.

So far, I’m not sure I’m into graphite powder but I’m willing to give it a go if it will help cut down some shading time and also make it easier to add some atmosphere to add to my drawings

There’s still a bit to go with this drawing so stick around for part ✌🏼

Before I started training classically in art I had NO IDEA that the prep stages of a drawing looked almost cubism like. I kind of love the geometric look to them.

Fast forward to now and I’ve just started an MFA at a classical school in New York. Follow along if you want to see what art student life is like 💛
