YveYANG is a gallery that presents emerging and newly established artists from all over the world. It is committed to carefully tracking the ever emerging technological moment alongside artists who wrestle with the conditions that this moment presents. This task requires a constant reconsideration of disciplinarily, forms of knowledge and representational modes. YveYANG is eager to see the practice of art in turn generate its own technologies that shape the world and our perception of it. In ๐˜Š๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ ๐Ÿฃ, centuries of construction gather into a form suspended against black. Based on a found aerial photograph of Prague Castle, the painting echoes the compressed architecture of Schieleโ€™s landscapes while allowing the surrounding city to fall away. The castle loses its monumentality and becomes model-like, its historical weight held within the imagined space of a dollโ€™s house.

Within the muted composition, a Model B28 chairโ€”first produced by the Czech manufacturer Mundus in the 1920sโ€”sits among ordinary domestic objects, allowing remnants of different eras to persist within the present.

YveYANG is pleased to announce the representation of Stephen Lichty.

Stephen Lichty (b. 1983, Kansas City, MO) lives and works in San Francisco, California. Recent solo exhibitions include YveYANG, New York (2026); Foxy Production, New York (2021, 2016, 2014); Veda, Florence (2020); and Adams and Ollman, Portland (2019). Recent group exhibitions include the Sky High Farm Biennial, Germantown, NY (2025); Michael Benevento Gallery, Los Angeles (2024); Sweetwater, Berlin (2024); Palazzo Fortuny, Venice (2017); and The Noguchi Museum, New York (2016).

Lichtyโ€™s work has also been presented through performances at The Noguchi Museum, New York; Socrates Sculpture Park, New York; and House of Seiko, San Francisco.

YveYANG presented Lichtyโ€™s first solo exhibition with the gallery, Ghost Stone, in 2026.

Drawn from a scene in Franรงois Truffautโ€™s French New Wave film The 400 Blows (1959), ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ด isolates a tightly cropped cluster of overlapping hands. Rendered in pale, nearly monochrome tones against fields of olive and black, the cinematic narrative recedes, leaving the bodily forms to hover at the edge of abstraction.
