YveYANG is pleased to announce Anastazie Anderson’s second solo exhibition at the gallery in New York, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯’𝘴 𝘝𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢.

Anastazie Anderson (b. 1995, Prague, Czech Republic) is a Czech-British painter living and working in London. She is known for her large-scale compositions and bold cropping, which reframe snapshots drawn from home photography, social-media imagery, and cinematic iconography. Her paintings transform personal recollections into scenes that feel dreamlike, uncanny, or abruptly direct. Anderson’s practice examines how mediated images construct fantasy, blurring the familiar and the surreal through flat planes of color, playful naivety, and a refined hard-edge sensibility.

She completed a BA in Fine Art at Falmouth University before pursuing a MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art, for which she was awarded a scholarship from The Bakala Foundation. Recent exhibitions include Like a Beacon Against the Cold at LBF Contemporary in London and Imitation of Life at YveYANG Gallery in New York.

David OReilly presented a work-in-progress build of 𝘌𝘈𝘊𝘏𝘖𝘛𝘏𝘌𝘙 at the 42nd Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, on view June 3–7 at the Festival Centre Post.

The evolving simulation follows one million beings as they live, seek one another, bond, fight, reproduce, and die. Beginning with a small cohort, the population grew throughout the five-day presentation, unfolding to Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony stretched across approximately twelve hours. Shifts in the music alter the conditions of their world: war can break out as the score darkens, while brighter passages weaken gravity and allow the beings to fly.

Each being registers its emotional state through color, making joy, grief, and pain visible across the collective. Continuously running and always subject to the possibility of extinction, 𝘌𝘈𝘊𝘏𝘖𝘛𝘏𝘌𝘙 draws from OReilly’s ongoing interest in biosimulation and artificial life.

Last day to see Anna-Maria Škroba’s 𝘐’𝘮 𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯, closing today at YveYANG.

Revisiting drawings and photographs, Škroba translates earlier images into paintings through intuition rather than exact replication. Figures remain tied to their original compositions, while the spaces around them shift, materialize, and dissolve, extending a captured moment into something slower and less fixed.

The works inhabit the subtle territory of the threshold, where the relationship between the individual and the space they inhabit becomes central. Even when a figure is posed, Škroba approaches the subject as a person situated within a particular condition rather than as an anatomical form.

Thank you to all who visited and spent time with the exhibition this summer.

The exhibition brings together works by Amanda Atria, Taisha Carrington, Cameron Patricia Downey, Joy Li, Abenda Sohn, Josh Rabineau, A.Y. Wang, and Shellie Zhang. Across the exhibition, material, history, and form remain in constant negotiation, moving between object and experience, the natural and the constructed, the singular and the multiple.

Congratulations to all eight artists, and thank you to everyone who visited the exhibition this summer.

In Joy Li’s 𝘉𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘌𝘺𝘦𝘴, 𝘍𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨, a blue sky appears and disappears as the light brightens and dims, tracing the cyclical rise and fade of desire.

Built from domestic and industrial materials, the sculpture takes the form of a miniature architectural structure. Drawing on the artificial sky of The Venetian Macao, Li brings together everyday objects, spectacle, and systems of commerce within a shifting surface.

In Anna-Maria Škroba’s 𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘩 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦, two distant figures sit within an expansive green landscape. A pale path and broad diagonal wash of shadow suggest an elevated viewpoint, perhaps from a bridge or overlook.

With only a few spatial cues, Škroba moves between landscape and figuration, allowing perspective to emerge through scale, light, and the placement of the figures.

In Cameron Patricia Downey’s 𝘋𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘦, 𝘋𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘯𝘪𝘴, the everyday is gathered, layered, and transformed into an altar-like form. Vinyl flooring, pine, dust, hair, beads, and epoxy retain traces of use while shifting into a new sculptural register.

Downey looks to the private lives of objects, finding meaning in what is incidental, precarious, or misremembered. In 𝘋𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘦, 𝘋𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘯𝘪𝘴, these materials become a kind of archive, holding onto fragments of lived experience without fixing them into a single narrative.

YveYANG is pleased to announce the representation of UK-based artist William Feaver.

William Feaver (b. 1942, Stratford-sub-Castle, Wiltshire, England) lives and works between Northumberland and London. Solo exhibitions include Berwick Watchtower Gallery, Berwick-upon-Tweed; University Gallery, Northumbria University, Newcastle; Piers Feetham Gallery, London; and Queens Hall Arts Centre, Hexham.

Alongside his work as an artist, Feaver has written, broadcast, lectured, and curated extensively on art. He served as chief art critic at The Observer from 1975–98, and his publications include the two-volume The Lives of Lucian Freud, monographs on Frank Auerbach and Lucian Freud, and Pitmen Painters, his critical biography of the Ashington Group. His curatorial projects include exhibitions at Tate Britain, the Wallace Collection, the Victoria & Albert Museum, Grand Palais, and the Hayward Gallery.

YveYANG first presented Feaver’s work at Liste Art Fair Basel in 2026.
