“Doña Montaña” by Pablo Góme Uribe PABLO

The sculpture was conceived for public space and seeks to represent the relationship between the mountain, engineering, and the transformation of the Antioquian territory. The project began in January 2025, after Pablo received the invitation to participate in the International Art Biennial of Antioquia and Medellín.

“This form pays direct tribute to the region’s mountains and seeks to establish a visual dialogue between modern infrastructure and local cultural identity.

According to the artist, the sculpture “looks toward an emerging Antioquia,” because “after having endured difficult times, it is time for artworks to enjoy the Antioquia we have today.” Gómez Uribe’s statement reflects the spirit of a work conceived for the public to freely experience and enjoy in a shared public space.” - El Tiempo EL TIEMPO
