Focusing on contemporary and modern art, Timothy Taylor has gallery spaces in London and New York. Timothy Taylor was founded in 1996 on Bruton Place, Mayfair.

Timothy Taylor is a fine art gallery with spaces in Mayfair, London and Chelsea, New York City. Over the past twenty years Timothy Taylor has developed a multigenerational roster of contemporary artists and post-war artists’ estates. Its rotating exhibition program includes curated group and solo exhibitions that emphasize the gallery’s strong presence in the secondary market as well as its repres

entation of living artists. In 2003, the gallery moved to a larger space at 24 Dering Street and continued to amass a strong UK and international client base. Since 2017, Timothy Taylor has operated from a four-story townhouse on Bolton Street in Mayfair. In 2016, Timothy Taylor opened a second space in Chelsea, Manhattan.

Now extended through 5 September, this exhibition of paintings by Richard Pettibone brings together a focused selection of works spanning several decades of the artist’s practice, from 1967 to 2021.

Drawn from important private collections, the paintings bring Pettibone’s signature small-scale interpretations of works by some of the most influential artists of the twentieth century into focus. At once precise and playful, they exemplify Pettibone’s distinctive approach to appropriation and his longstanding fascination with the history and circulation of images.

On view now at the Albertina Museum (ALBERTINA Museum) in Klosterneuburg, a special presentation of drawings by Eddie Martinez (Eddie Martinez), shown alongside historical works by Georg Baselitz.

Encompassing nearly 350 works on paper, the presentation brings together sketches, collages, and fragments from Martinez’s daily practice, offering an expansive view of his approach to drawing. The presentation follows his exhibitions at The Drawing Center, New York (2019), and at the 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia (2022).

Presented alongside Baselitz, Martinez’s works highlight the different ways the two artists have used drawing to develop ideas and explore new forms.

On view through 21 August, Richard Pettibone’s first UK exhibition brings together a focused selection of paintings spanning several decades of the artist’s practise, offering an introduction to Pettibone’s singular contribution to post-war American art.

Today marks the ninety-ninth birthday of Alex Katz (), who was born on this day, 24 July, in Brooklyn, New York!

One of the defining figures of post-war American painting, Katz's storied eight-decade career continues to shape contemporary art through his singular vision of portraiture and landscape, distilled into a bold visual language of clarity, scale, and immediacy.

This year, the artist's drawing practice is the focus of "Alex Katz | Out of Sight: A Drawing Survey" at the Colby College Museum of Art () in Maine, underscoring the enduring vitality and influence of his work.

This weekend, “Rashid, Sheree and Friends” opened at Château La Coste (Chateau La Coste), featuring sculptures and tapestries by Annie Morris ().

Curated by Rashid Johnson and Sheree Hovsepian, the exhibition brings together works by more than sixteen artists whose practises have been shaped through longstanding friendships, dialogue, and creative exchange.

In 2022, Morris presented a solo exhibition at Château La Coste, debuting her signature “Stack” sculptures in France in the newly completed Oscar Niemeyer Pavilion.

Opening in two weeks, an exhibition of works by American artist Richard Pettibone (1938–2024), marking the first solo presentation of the artist’s work in the UK.

Bringing together works spanning the breadth of the artist’s career, the exhibition traces Pettibone’s practice of close appropriation through meticulously rendered, small-scale paintings after images of canonical works by artists including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Marcel Duchamp, Jasper Johns, and Ed Ruscha.

Organised in collaboration with the Pettibone Estate and Castelli Gallery (Castelli Gallery), the exhibition offers an introduction to one of the most singular voices in post-war American art, whose work is shaped by sustained questions of authorship, reproduction, and scale.

Tomorrow is the final day to see “Rose Obsolete,” Alice Tippit’s (Alice Tippit) first solo museum exhibition at DePaul Art Museum (DePaul Art Museum) in Chicago.

The exhibition brings together paintings, drawings, and new commissions from the past decade, highlighting Tippit’s layered and associative approach to image-making.

In a recent review for Hyperallergic, Tippit’s paintings generate “association, insinuation, slippage, and various messaging,” reflecting the artist’s nuanced approach to image, language, and perception.

Just launched: an online presentation of new landscape paintings by Armen Eloyan, marking the artist’s first sustained engagement with the subject.

Explore Eloyan’s first works made en plein air, developed earlier this year near his home in Switzerland. The paintings retain the heavily impastoed surfaces and material intensity central to his practise, shaped directly by the conditions of their making, including scale.

Coinciding with , from 5–7 June, the works will also be available to view in-person at the gallery for a limited time.

Simon Hantaï’s “Tabula” (1981) is a key work from one of the most significant series of his career, developed through his ongoing use of the pliage method.

The canvas was folded before painting and later unfolded, allowing gesture, structure, and chance to shape the composition. Across this series, Hantaï redefined abstraction through repetition, fragmentation, and light.

Timothy Taylor has worked closely with the Simon Hantaï Estate for more than a decade, culminating in a retrospective at the gallery’s New York space in 2024, presented in collaboration with Hantaï’s family. “Tabula” (1981) is currently on view in “30 Years” in London through Saturday 30 May.
