There are many beautiful Rosh Hashanah traditions, including one called Tashlich. Tashlich is a Hebrew word that means “to cast.”
Special verses are recited next to a body of water, preferably one that has fish. Doing this symbolically accomplishes the goal of casting our sins into the sea.
Then men and boys shake the corners of their Tallit Katan (Tzitzit garment), which represents a tangible way to shake the sins away.
Tashlich helps us start the new year with a clean heart, a fresh start, and a big smile.
Let us know in the comments how your sensory bin came out. We’d love to hear!
