Introducing our newest artist, David Silverstein

Silverstein is a multidisciplinary artist based in Connecticut who approaches his paintings as objects rather than images. Cotton duck canvas is stretched over pine and cradled in wooden frames he paints by hand, built as an extension of the work itself.

His practice grew from a fascination with folk art and found objects, borrowing from older decorative traditions like sgraffito. The work explores a personal relationship with nature, vision, memory, and cross-cultural symbolism.
