New and available from Francis Switzer!

“Francis Switzer was born in 1986 in Billings, Montana and grew up surrounded by the arts. From a young age, he was drawn into his father Scott Switzer’s studio, where he was introduced to oil painting and began developing the skills that would shape his life’s work. His early training was rooted in plein air painting, a discipline that gave him both a reverence for natural light and the ability to translate atmosphere directly onto canvas.”

Tomorrow we open Kira Fercho’s new show, Visual Stories. Meet Kira at an artist reception from 5 to 8.

About this piece:

“Perfect Day is a celebration of light, color, and the quiet magic of being fully present in nature. The aspens rise as luminous verticals. Their white trunks anchoring the painting like steady breaths. Their quaking golden leaves shimmer and dissolve into a tapestry of movement and texture.

Thick. expressive brushstrokes and layered color evoke the feeling of walking through an autumn grove where light flickers, leaves whisper, and time slows. Cool blues and soft greens weave through the warmth, creating a sense of balance between earth and sky, stillness and energy.

This painting is not meant to remind us that beauty oftentimes lives in fleeting seasons.”

“Across this collection, animals emerge and disappear within layers of color, texture, and movement. Some are immediately recognizable; others ask the viewer to spend time with the painting and allow the figures to slowly reveal themselves.

The unexpected blues, turquoise, coral, gold, and deep blacks are less about describing exactly what I see and more about painting what the landscape and animals feel like to me.”

Meet Kira Fercho at an artist reception this Friday from 5 to 8 and enjoy her new show, “Visual Stories.”

“I grew up in Montana surrounded by cattle and horses, and these subjects have always felt deeply familiar to me. Rather than painting the West as something nostalgic or belonging to the past, I want these paintings to feel alive, luxurious, and distinctly of today.”

Meet Kira Fercho at her artist reception this Friday from 5 to 8 and enjoy new show, “Visual Stories.”

Kira Fercho shares about this painting, featured in her Visual Stories show opening
October 2nd:

“Wild horses represent freedom, instinct, resilience, and that part of us that refuses to be completely tamed.

In this painting, some of the horses are clearly defined while others dissolve into the grasses, color, and texture. I wanted the viewer to have to look for them, to discover another horse, another gesture, another small story each time they return to the painting.

The turquoise and soft greens give the piece a sense of open air and distance, while unexpected flashes of orange, pink, violet, red, and blue bring life and individuality to the herd.

Heavy texture allows the surface itself to become part of the movement. Nothing is too controlled, because wildness shouldn’t feel controlled.”
