Elyse Harrison, featured artist in Rhythm + Rhyme.

The artist noted:
“For this exhibition, I made paintings featuring ten isolated characters at pivotal moments of creativity, adventure, and focused intention.

These purposeful women in their patterned attire and solitary spaces bring out the best in me. I have always loved textile design, and I use patterning in all of my paintings and especially in the mixed media birds I create”

The idea simmering beneath the exhibit title “Rhythm and Rhyme” is that visual arts work similarly to music, with “repeated elements moving a viewer’s eye through a composition. Color, line, shape, and texture, arranged with intention, creating a visual tempo. The pulse of a painting”.

Molly Murphy Adams Artist Talk:
