Thanks to everyone who joined us for LeAnn Boyd’s artist talk on her vibrant frescoes last Thursday!

Artist talks bring artists and community members together to share ideas, ask questions, and connect through art. 🎨 These conversations offer a glimpse into each artist’s creative process, the inspiration behind their work, and the time and thought that go into every piece. ELEMENTAL Artist Feature: Jessie Kristy 🌀

Artist Jessie Kristy's curvaceous vessels transport us into a cloudlike realm, sensual and delicate. Each cup, vase, and bowl swells generously outward—organic, bulbous forms inviting touch.

The artist's intention to draw us into nature is signaled by titles like "Teabowl on Landscape". Likewise, her vases titled "Corpora" are reminiscent of classically sculpted torsos, suggesting the soft geometry of the human form.

ELEMENTAL Artist Feature: Olivia Tani 🌀

Olivia Tani's creative gift lies in her ability to merge architectural structure and organic form into exciting sculptures that function as vases, bowls, and pots.

Her altered clay forms are cut at asymmetrical angles, often forming vaulted arches with pleasing negative spaces, like windows in an ancient ruin. The obsidian black glazes often melt into deep blue pools, creating a dramatic, nocturnal atmosphere.

ELEMENTAL Artist Feature: LeAnn Boyd 🌀

For many years, artist LeAnn Boyd has given art lovers in the Missoula area the opportunity to explore the pleasures of texture, surface, and color. With her fresco panels, she urges us to observe the beauty made visible by the hands of time, subtle shifts, accidental juxtapositions caused by wearing, scraping, and patience.

Her fresco paintings are boldly contemporary, even as they embody an aura of antiquity. Shop LeAnn's work here: https://www.radiusgallery.com/artist/leann-boyd/

This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we’re celebrating and thanking the Indigenous makers who share their work with our community. Through ledger art, beadwork, printmaking, and more, these artists share their languages, traditions, histories, and perspectives through their art. At Radius Gallery, we’re honored to showcase a diverse range of artwork by Indigenous makers and remain committed to uplifting their voices and celebrating their creativity.
