Yesterday, several members of the Mound Science and Energy Museum Association (MSEMA) Board and former Mound Lab Employees attended the grand opening of the Mound Cold War Discovery Center Exhibit at Carillon Historical Park.
The journey to preserve and share the legacy of Mound Laboratory has been a long, collaborative project, started by the dedicated efforts of former Mound Lab Employees and assisted by the Department of Energy, the City of Miamisburg, passionate community members, local historians and history lovers. While this project has had its challenges, it is safe to say that this exhibit is one of the many ways we have come together to honor Mound Laboratory, its technology, scientific contributions, and the people who worked there.
The Mound Science and Energy Museum Association Board is thrilled that Mound's story will be shared with the thousands of people that visit Carillon Park each year. And, the Board is excited to work with the Miamisburg Historical Society to keep parts of the Mound Legacy in Miamisburg with a new exhibit.
