The Mound Science and Energy Museum Association presents "Bicycling with Mound & Monsanto Connections" by Carl Bishop

Summary:
Carl Bishop began bicycling to Mound in 1974 and bicycled for 18 years. After retiring from Mound, he bicycled to work at Fernald and Miami University Hamilton. His total bicycle commuting added up to 42 years. At Monsanto when attending a conference, he would sometimes take his bicycle along to ride before the conference. On one occasion when the meeting was in Jackson Hole Wyoming, he took the opportunity to bicycle in the Grand Tetons. After retiring for good he would park his car at Warren Sheehan’s house and frequently bicycle his age in miles along the Little Miami River on his birthday.

This lecture is free and open to the public.

Speaker Biography:
Carl began his career by teaching Chemistry for six years at Thomas More College. For 26 years, he was an analytical chemist and supervisor at Mound Laboratory. After spending another six years at Fernald, he taught Chemistry and Math part-time at Miami University Hamilton. He taught a course “Alternate Sources of Energy” at Sinclair and at the University of Cincinnati.
