The Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks are 2000-year old ceremonial sites that were created by the ancestors of American Indians. Eight earthworks, including Fort Ancient (located in Warren County) and the Newark Earthworks, were added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2023 as masterpieces of human creative genius. In this program, we’ll learn about these special places and how they relate to other American Indian sites in Ohio.
