If you've been downtown for any First Friday or music event, you more than likely have run into John Mollica, better known as Johnny Mo!

Johnny Mo is a visual artist, lettering specialist, music promoter, and proud Macon resident. Over the years, he has produced art for album covers, posters, and merchandise for dozens of unknown bands and a few that are more recognizable, including the Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule, Derek Trucks, and Susan Tedeschi. Today, he is a well-known part of Middle Georgia's Absurdist art movement and works primarily with paintings and mixed media works with found materials!

You've waited long enough, now it's time to reveal our final Mural Festival Featured Artist...Nico Cathcart!

Nico is a Deaf/Hard of Hearing painter and muralist from Toronto, Ontario who currently is based in Richmond, Virginia. She is a member of the all-women paint crew Few and Far, and her work has been featured in several galleries across the country, including the Virginia Museum of History and Culture and the ABV Gallery. Nico's art style is, in her own words, "highly-realistic, socially informed intersectional activations on both walls and canvas".

Meet Heidi Clinite, a local multimedia artist who specializes in acrylic paintings, wood-burned works, and mixed-media collages using discarded and repurposed materials!

Heidi studied figure drawing and painting at The Art Students League of New York, and taught herself wood-burning in 2015. The following year, she started her art business, Ember Maypop Shop, where she sells art decor and crafts. Fun fact: Heidi's piece in our "Joie Debris" show, "Luna Sea", is a dreamcatcher made out of a bicycle rim and found objects, and a portion of the proceeds goes to supporting the Ojibwa Tribe in recognition of the cultural origins that inspired it.

Get to know Erika Rosendale, also known as "Miss Teal", also ALSO known as our third Mural Festival Featured Artist!

Miss Teal is a multi-award winning site-specific artist hailing from the Pacific Coast of North America, based in Portland, Oregon, and raised as a bee, sea, and tree-hugger in Santa Cruz, California. Combining a background in scenic art and urban art, Teal is best known for her immersive natural environments, dynamic figures, and a style dubbed ‘elemental surrealism’, often depicting large-scale site-specific wildlife and figurative narratives with atmospheric effects.

Don't miss a special public art unveiling TOMORROW at the Northeast center of Bicentennial Park in East Macon!

The Macon Arts Alliance and Ocmulgee National Park and Preserve Initiative will be celebrating the unveiling of "Medicine River", created by resident artist Starr Hardridge in collaboration with local artists Randy Heart and Tanner Coleman.

Join us in Bicentennial Park at 5:00 pm for our ceremony, immediately followed by a reception at the Douglass Theatre! Plus, at 6:15 pm, stick around for the Firestarters Film Festival reception and screenings of "Defend the Sacred, Preserve the Past" and "Aanikoobijigan"! Please note that these screenings are ticketed events.
