Every summer, we work diligently to combat summer slide in our summer camps, helping kids in our community build friendships while learning in a welcoming environment that requires no transportation. Camp is right where they live.

From daily literacy lessons to one-on-one tutoring built around each child's own reading assessment, we're proud that our on-site summer camps deliver, every year, on the goal of helping our kids succeed in school and stay ready. We recognize that success in the classroom creates a lasting impact in a child's life.

Through the support of our sponsors, community partners and teachers, our campers also get to experience things they might not otherwise get to try, from enrichment activities to new friendships and positive role models. This year we were able to host 986 sessions across our Louisville communities, 730 sessions in our Austin and Houston communities and 63 sessions in Nashville. Thank you for helping us deliver on our mission once again and we look forward to expanding our efforts next summer!

We won! After a jury trial that spanned two weeks and included dozens of witnesses, countless hours of testimony, and a mountain of evidence, a jury comprised of fellow Louisvillians agreed with us and found that the City of Prospect acted unlawfully when they conspired to stop the development of Prospect Cove from moving forward.

The work to provide affordable housing in Prospect began nearly 10 years ago and was driven by our guiding belief that everyone deserves a quality place to live. While we had hoped that we would be able to win the support of Prospect community by incorporating some of the feedback they provided into proposed design, it didn’t take long to realize that their objections were really about the people this development would serve and not about the buildings that would occupy the site. As such, winning many of the Prospect officials’ support was not something we would ever be able to achieve despite our best efforts.

One of the core beliefs that has guided LDG for more than 30 years is our guiding philosophy that affordable housing should be in all parts of the community and not concentrated in a particular zip code or area. We know that there are very few developers who would be willing to wage a costly fight against one of the wealthiest areas of our community on behalf of the families they serve. That is certainly not something we set out to do when we embarked on this journey. But in the words of Mark Twain, “there’s never a wrong time to do the right thing,” and so while we were not eager to take this on, backing away from it was never an option we were willing to consider because the Prospect Cove represents more than just housing, it represents fighting for a Louisville we can all be proud of. This verdict is a vindication that we made the right decision.

When we announced our partnership with Bezos Academy in 2023, our goal was to help expand access to early childhood education for families in the communities we serve. Today, we're proud to celebrate the opening of Bezos Academy Louisville–Riverport, the third preschool in Louisville developed through that partnership.

Located next to our Riverport Landings communities, the tuition-free, Montessori-inspired preschool will officially open September 15, creating new opportunities for Louisville's youngest learners.

A special thank-you to The Marian Group for partnering with us to donate the land for Louisville's newest Bezos Academy.

We're grateful to Bezos Academy and our community partners, and we look forward to welcoming students to Riverport this fall and continuing our investment in Louisville's future.

Redwood in San Marcos, Texas, has officially stabilized!

This 296-unit affordable housing community expands access to quality homes for families earning 30% and 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI), bringing us one step closer to our mission of ensuring everyone deserves a quality place to live.

Since 2019, the NAHRO-LDG Scholars Program has supported 21 outstanding students through scholarships and internship opportunities as part of our 10-year, $1 million commitment to expanding educational opportunities.

Introducing the 2026 NAHRO Merit College Scholarship winners!

Representing each of NAHRO’s eight regional councils, these students live in a household or are provided a housing related service by a NAHRO member agency; and are pursuing their first post-secondary degree in fields such as civil engineering, biology, communication, nursing, business administration, architecture and elementary education.

From these eight regional winners, three outstanding students have been additionally awarded the multi-year NAHRO-LDG Scholarship: Adriana Nunez Tang, Isabelle Mohr, and Chyla Richardson (pictured across the top). The NAHRO-LDG Scholars Program is a 10-year venture — funded by the award-winning multi-family housing developer LDG Development — providing $1 million in scholarships and internship opportunities.

NAHRO will continue the celebration of these exceptional students this fall at the 2026 National Conference & Exhibition in Denver, CO. See you there!
