What Wendell Berry stood for is what he stood on. He gave us the language to ask what comes, logically, when we translate our love for the past of a Place into a dedication to its now and forever. The pursuit of history places us—humbly, humanely—in the flow of a river of time, that connects us up- and downstream. From that vantage, our responsibility to those above, beneath, and around us in that stream reveals itself. “Because I now know,” we ask, “what shall I now do?”

That's a wrap on a successful day at the ! The Filson was on-site sharing our extensive knowledge of quilts and quilt preservation. Folks from across the state came to learn how to preserve their family quilts for generations!

Another wonderful day at Oxmoor Farm.

This year's Filson Day at Oxmoor explored over two centuries of history through the stories of the women who shaped Oxmoor, highlighting their labor, creativity, resilience, and leadership across generations. Guests toured the historic home and grounds, connected with staff and volunteers, and viewed special displays that brought these diverse stories to life.
