The artist writes, “The lantern man was a terrifying figure in English folklore. My version of the story contains a mask made from the invasive spotted lantern fly. The insect is often perceived as an equally terrifying boogeyman. How will we choose to live with an introduced species that has already proven impossible to eradicate?”
