"Ono is now widely understood to be one of the foundational figures of conceptual and performance art. 'Music of the Mind' underscores that, positioning Ono not as a cultural footnote or curiosity, but as one of the defining artistic visionaries of the last century." —Ariana Marsh for Vogue

In the feature, takes us inside the exhibition Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind, where visitors participate by hammering nails into a canvas, step into enormous black fabric sacks, and rummage through WWII-era helmets filled with sky-patterned puzzle pieces to take home. Woven throughout are films, instruction pieces, and conceptual works that trace the full arc of Ono's practice as an artist, musician, and activist. A body of work that, as The Broad's curator Sarah Loyer puts it, "disrupts our assumption of what it is to be an audience member at a museum."
