✨ Meet the artist behind “Aimee Lee: Every Last Scrap”!

Join Cleveland Arts Prize winner Aimee Lee on Thursday, October 22, for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of her solo exhibition, now on view at the Kent State University Museum.

Recently featured in The New York Times, Aimee is internationally acclaimed for her art and dedication to sustaining Korean papermaking traditions.

✨️ We have some exciting news! In conjunction with the upcoming unveiling of the Women’s Monument at the Ohio Statehouse on October 14, an original suffragette suit from the collection of the Kent State University Museum will be on display in the Ladies’ Gallery at the Ohio Statehouse through April 2027.

The two-piece summer walking suit consists of a white linen jacket and full-length skirt. The suit was created circa 1918 by the Halle Brothers Co. of Cleveland, Ohio.
On June 16, 1919, the Ohio legislature ratified the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote.

🤍 We are grateful for this collaboration with the Ohio Statehouse and are honored to have a piece from our collection on display to celebrate the unveiling of this historic Women's Monument!

🔵 The first “Circle” event is taking place on October 13 at the the Kent State University Museum!

Circles is a new CSI Civic and Community Engagement series built around small-group shared experiences for students.

🪡 The first Circle — Repair, Renew, Reimagine — will include a guided museum tour, a hands-on mending workshop, and conversation inspired by the question:

“What is one thing in your life or community that deserves to be repaired, renewed, or reimagined rather than discarded?”

No experience is necessary. Come ready to try something new!
