The Russel Erskine Hotel is a prominent 12-story historic skyscraper located at 115 Clinton Ave W in downtown Huntsville, Alabama. Opened on January 3, 1930, it served as the premier grand hotel and the social, civic, and cultural hub of the Tennessee Valley for over 40 years. Today, the building no longer operates as a transient hotel; it has been repurposed into affordable senior housing known as the Russel Erskine Apartments. ~Crunkleton Real Estate Group~

Huntsville native, Huntsville Revisited member, and someone I am privileged to call friend is Danny Vinson.
Danny stopped by the Huntsville Revisited Museum recently to visit with me and to gift the museum with an autographed poster for my collection.

Danny Vinson's career has been marked by a diverse range of roles that showcase his versatility as an actor. Here are some of his notable career highlights:

• Leatherheads (2008): Vinson played the Duluth Reporter, contributing to the film's depiction of early professional football.

• The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008): He portrayed the Priest Giving Last Rites, adding a poignant touch to David Fincher's fantastical drama.

• 42 (2013): Vinson played Eddie Dyer, a team figure in the story of Jackie Robinson's breaking of the color barrier in baseball.

• American Underdog (2021): He appeared as Larry, adding depth to the film's narrative.

• The Walking Dead (2013): Vinson had a guest spot as David Chambler in the episode "Live Bait."

• Nashville (2013, 2016): He appeared in the series, showcasing his ability to blend into various genres.

• Preacher (2018): Vinson's role in this series further demonstrated his range as an actor.

Danny Vinson's work has been recognized for its authenticity and contribution to the ensemble casts in both comedies and dramas. His performances often draw on his Alabama roots to infuse roles with regional flavor, making him a beloved figure in the industry.
