ON VIEW BY APPOINTMENT MARCH 10 – APRIL 21, 2024: Alief Art House and presents “Astroworld: The Wonderful World of Fun” showcasing the artist Mark Nelson’s works of photography, sculpture, and video.

Mark Nelson is a multimedia artist born in Salina, Kansas in 1957. He received a BFA from Pratt Institute in 1992, an MFA from the University of Houston in 1998, and a Fellowship from the American Photography Institute at Tisch School of Arts / New York University in 1998. Since 1994, Nelson has received numerous honors, grants, awards, and local media attention. He has also done many artistic expressions such as his ongoing public art project founded in 1998 called “Glass Free Grounds” that creatively rids the City of Houston public parks of dangerous shards of broken glass debris. Nelson identifies as a “NeuroArtist.”
