“Movies Houstonians Love Presented by Harold Taylor,” a beloved force in Houston’s community and a longtime Ultimate Film Buffs member.

On Friday, May 29, we dive into the singular world of Hal Hartley: deadpan dialogue, stylized performances, and razor‑sharp philosophy. “The Unbelievable Truth” marks Adrienne Shelly’s first film role alongside Robert John Burke, setting the tone for Hartley’s unmistakable indie legacy. We’re also screening two of Hartley’s early 16mm shorts—a perfect intro for newcomers and a treat for die‑hards.

The program will take you on a journey through Bach’s life: an early toccata in the Italian style, a French-style suite, and several preludes and fugues from The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 2.
