A National Historic Landmark, and a member of the Nations Trust for Historic Preservation's Historic Artists Homes and Studios program, the museum is owned and operated by the Stony Brook Foundation, an affiliate of Stony Brook University.
The former home and studio of Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) and Lee Krasner (1908-1984), two of the foremost abstract expressionist painters.
Mission: To preserve and interpret the artists' living and working environment, to offer public programs that promote the understanding and appreciation of modern American art, and to provide facilities that advance scholarship, stimulate inquiry and encourage creativity.
