FINANCIAL FITNESS FOR ARTISTS (in-person & virtual)

with Carol Steinberg and Renée Vara
Carol Steinberg is an intellectual property attorney and professor at School of Visual Arts. Carol will describe a law that protects artists' work and proceeds when their work is in galleries Learn why registration is important in enforcing copyrights. She will also explain important provisions that should be included in an artist’s contract with a gallery.
Renée Vara is a court expert and artist advocate for creative rights with 30 years as a certified appraiser, advisor, and educator to manage collections for foundations, studios, and private collectors. Her firm provides advice and expertise to top 200 collectors and artists' studios. Renée will present ways artists can manage their studios, art, and consignments along with tips for pricing, insurance, and other business know-how.
