Congratulations to gallery artist Donald Martiny on his participation in the exhibition of American artists with ArteA Gallery in Milan, Italy.

Martiny’s current exploration is in the presence and power of gesture made to exist forever in the present. What he wants to happen is for the space between the painting and the viewer to become activated, encouraging the viewer to form a relationship and interact with the work. Beyond an observational viewing experience, he is encouraging engagement and participation with the painting. By eschewing the ground (canvas or panel) altogether, the painting directly addresses the viewer and relates more dynamically to the space around it. These massive brushstrokes offer a potent exchange inviting the viewer closer, even inside the work. The intimacy is instantaneous and intensely visceral. Martiny’s paintings are not a depiction of an experience, rather they are the experience.

Thank you for including us in your article: The Ceramic Standouts at NADA New York 2026

“Sprightly bursts of color and whimsy welcomed visitors as they arrived at this year’s NADA New York fair, a timely antidote to the long shadow of a frigid winter. 120 galleries, art spaces, and nonprofit organizations from fifteen countries gathered at the Starrett-Lehigh Building in Chelsea from May 7th to 11th.”

Our booth presentation included ceramic works by gallery artist Saskia Fleishman.

Another moment — featuring work by Jessica Drenk

“My work is an inquiry into materiality: what makes up the objects that surround us as well as the composition of the natural world. I am interested in how parts combine to create a whole and the intricacies of shape and texture found in the world at every scale. In treating everyday objects as raw material to sculpt, I practice a form of conceptual alchemy: through physically manipulating these objects the meanings to material-a subversion of the meanings associated with it, and a reference to the life cycle of objects through time.” — Jessica Drenk

Today we’re highlighting Lori Larusso ⚡️
Larusso recently received the award of a fully funded, month-long artist residency from The Great Meadows Foundation and ARTEFORA - Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea. In June 2026, Lori will have studio space at ARTEFORA in the heart of the Langhe countryside in Piedmont, Italy, and be supported with curatorial guidance, mentorship, and production assistance for the development of a new site-specific project.

Today we’re highlighting Rachel Hellmann ⚡️

Hellmann is currently part of two group exhibitions, one with Saenger Galería in Mexico City and another one in Boston, MA with Michele Mercaldo Jewelry Design, courtesy of Ellen Miller Gallery.

Rachel Hellmann is a multi-disciplinary artist who is known for her ongoing series of meticulously- crafted geometric sculptures and paintings. Working both three-dimensionally and on paper, the resulting forms explore the way in which the viewer’s perception is disoriented by the distorted sense of gravity caused by the careful interplay of geometry, light, and color.
