SMINK Art + Design

SMINK Art + Design Representing contemporary and classic modern furniture lines and fine art since 1989.

Established in 1989 as a showcase of fine design and furniture, SMINK has become a purveyor of fine products for living. We have gathered great manufacturers to us that represent the products of many famous designers – Minotti with the work of Rodolfo Dordoni, Living Divani with the work of Piero Lissoni, Porro with Lissoni, Massaud, Pillet, Rennie, and Kettal with Patricia Urquiola, Jasper Morris

on, and Dordoni, Simon/Estel with the work of the great Carlos Scarpa. These are the great minds of the modern age – all of whom pursued the elegance of perfect design.

There are details you notice the first time you see a piece, and details you only discover once you live with it. With Finn Juhl, the armrest is both. An organic form so deliberate it almost feels alive — and one that still pushes the limits of what a cabinetmaker can do in wood. Stop in and feel the difference for yourself.

In 1945, Finn Juhl established his own studio, marking an important turning point in his career. That same year, he designed the 45 Chair, which brought him growing recognition for his work. The space between the frame and the seat creates a sense of lightness that, together with the chair’s organic form and refined details, gives it a distinctive, almost floating presence.

The Poet Sofa was designed for two, for intimate conversation, inspired by contemporary art and shown in 1941 alongside Icelandic sculptor Sigurjón Ólafsson’s plaster reliefs. Without formal carpentry training, Finn Juhl designed from scratch, measuring his own body and rethinking how each component should support the human form. The result: a slim, inviting sofa that is playful, intimate, and perfectly suited to smaller spaces.
