Monday night, Dr Elizabeth Murray, of Mount St Joseph University, presented a fascinating study of the first ever use of forensic genetic genealogy to identify a person. An audience of more than 70 people were transfixed by the tragedy and the successful pioneering science which gave a body a name: Marcia Sossoman King. It is a fascinating story of twists and turns, road blocks and successes which led to a mother learning of her lost daughter's whereabouts after 37 years. T

On Friday October 2, 2026, NBC's Dateline show featured a 1989 Cincinnati criminal investigation that was solved in 2023 through forensic genetic genealogy.

Five years earlier, Dr. Beth Murray of Mount St Joseph University was instrumental in pioneering the use of genetic genealogy to identify the body of a girl known only as "the Buckskin Girl." For 37 years, investigators tried to ID this victim who had been found in a roadside ditch only hours after she died.

You can hear Dr. Beth Murray explain the case and the process by attending her presentation Monday October 12, 2026 at 7PM, at the Delhi Community/Senior Center at 647 Neeb Rd. FREE and OPEN to the public!

This photo was brought to the Delhi Historical Society today. Not sure where, or when this was. There is a priest in the back row, the boys are holding scrolls of some sort. And in the front row, second from left, a boy holds a pennant that reads ELDER.

Is anyone familiar with this photo, occasion, and location?
