Blessings overflowed today! Bethel Church chose us as a recipient of their "Be The Church" outreach. They washed windows, weeded under the porch and around the building, cleared gutters, wiped down rocking chairs, touched up the railings and porch steps, painted table legs, sorted the chaos in upstairs storage, and cleaned and organized the basement. From the top to bottom, we are feeling great. Thank you friends at Bethel -- you moved the needle in a couple of hours by completing projects that would've taken us weeks.

Tonight, at 5pm local time, the nation will participate in a public reading of the Declaration of Independence on the 250th anniversary of its first public reading. The Museum at Lassen's Resort will be running a steamboat at that time. Instead, we offer you the reading we held on Sunday afternoon, in addition to the unveiling of our Captain Andrew W. Laud Heroes Gallery Wall of Honor.

We enjoyed a special visit today with Lisa Burton, granddaughter of our founder, Beatrice Horner. She hasn't been in the museum since her grandma first began the journey to create a local history center for Cedar Lake in the late 1970s. Welcome back, Lisa, and thank you for bringing us some of Bea's art featuring Cedar Lake historic sites. She thinks her grandma would be delighted at all that's been accomplished.

We continue to "Dream Big & 'Bea' Determined." If you haven't been to the museum in several years, or even since last year, then you've never been to the museum! Experience the reimagined The Story of Cedar Lake exhibit gallery weekly Wednesday through Sunday, including our outdoor spaces.
