Please join us for life drawing throughout this fall, now two select Saturdays each month from 10 am - 12 pm. These classes are drop-in only, no prior registration is required.

All ages are welcome, anyone under 15 should be accompanied by an adult. Participants should be able to sit for periods of active drawing and not distract others.

A $10-20 sliding scale fee can be paid by cash or venmo to the facilitator at the door. 10% of proceeds from this year’s workshops will be donated to the Family Van.

This is the last week to check out Field Studies (Symbiosis)! We are open Thursday/Friday 5-8pm and Saturday/Sunday 12-4pm. The artists will be gallery sitting each day so you can learn more about the work!

The presentation at Gallery 263 is the third iteration of Field Studies (Symbiosis). It debuted with a performance premiere at the Peabody Essex Museum, followed by a highlight in the European Cultural Center during the 2026 Venice Biennale and a featured exhibition at Stelo Arts and Cultural Foundation in Portland, Oregon.

💚OPEN CALL💚Galley 263 invites zine and ephemera artists from across the country to submit work for At What Cost, an intimate group exhibition juried by Andy Chan.

This national exhibition will act as a testament to the desire for connection and information sharing in the face of rising costs of living. We welcome finished pieces and the physical material that helped make the work legible, from sketches and test prints to diary entries or archival content. Any zine or ephemera work such as booklets, flyers and comics are eligible for review, provided they were produced within the last three years. Objects and images do not need to be framed.

Submission deadline: September 13, 2026 at 11:59 pm ET
Exhibition dates: October 3 - November 3, 2026

Gallery 263 is pleased to present Field Studies (Symbiosis), an immersive exploration of forest ecology through sound, movement, and projected imagery by collaborators experimental installation artist Fernanda D’Agostino, composer Lisa DeGrace, and movement artist Laura Kathrein.

Step into a space transformed into an immersive forest environment. Land, wind, water, soil, and hidden networks of forest communication unfold around you, revealing connections both visible and unseen.

🔥OPEN CALLS EXTENDED🔥The submission deadline to apply for our current artist opportunities has been extended to Saturday August 8 at 11:59 pm ET.

Myth to Ritual, a small group juried exhibition, will celebrate the vastness of storytelling and folklore traditions across geographies. We welcome work that features stories derived from the natural world, personal imagination and storied traditions. This call is open to all artists based in the US.

Our 2026-27 Small Works Project invites visual artists to share 2D work to be homed in our flat files over the next year. This cohort of 12 local artists will also be invited to host artist workshops or be involved in community offerings. The small works call is only open to Massachusetts based artists.

Note that in both cases, artists must apply as individuals, not as a group. A subset of Gallery staff and board will review submissions.

Asked by New England Art News New England Art News what this installation has meant to her, Flora shared, “Given that this show is my first solo gallery exhibition, it is incredibly meaningful to me. I hope viewers fall in love with the heat of it, whether it appears as blue striped steel or glossy stone maps. I hope they feel the awe of bent rods and leaky rocks; I hope they feel closer to the world, even as it unfolds infinitely before us.”

Please join us tonight from 6-7:30 pm to hear from some of the minds behind Contemporary Q***r: Abundance! Artists Andi Pickler , Hogan Seidel , Juno Soleil Vieira , and Brian Christopher Glaser will be in conversation with juror Jasper A. Sanchez

This national exhibition sees and imagines a world beyond that which is given. In the work of 22 featured artists, q***r abundance is at once communal celebration, sexual liberation and a tactic of resistance and resilience. It holds at the seams both grief and love.

We are thrilled to team up with our friends at the Porter Square Shopping Center for two public art installation opportunities! We’re seeking bold, joyful, and imaginative original designs that bring color, movement, and creative energy to our streetscape.

The little library call, as previously announced, closes in just three days on June 21. Both calls are free to enter and open to artists across all experience levels. Check out our website for full submission details (link in bio).

📚Little Library:
Artists within 20 miles of Cambridge are invited to submit proposals for a new, permanent little lending library to live outside of Michael’s / Cafe Zing. The small library can take form, scale and style, so long as it is functional, cohesive with the surrounding area, and can withstand outdoor conditions all year. The selected artist will receive a $2,000 stipend; call closes June 21 at 11:59 pm ET

🪟Window installation:
New England artists are submit proposals for an original, large-scale window vinyl installation in front of CVS Pharmacy. Any medium is permitted, such as painting, collage, mixed media, etc, so long as high-res files can be reproduced onto vinyl. Artwork will remain on view for approximately six months. The selected artist or artist team will receive a $1,000 stipend; call closes July 10 at 11:59 pm ET
