MD Arts Summit 2026 –

This past Tuesday, we had the pleasure of attending the Maryland Arts Summit at Prince George’s Community College! It was an inspiring day filled with opportunities for us to learn, connect, and celebrate the power of community arts. In particular, we engaged with sessions that not only allowed us to connect with fellow community artivists but also allowed us to witness the impact of creative community work happening across Maryland.

We also had the opportunity to lead our own workshop, Jubilant Spaces: Where Teaching Artists and Community Missions Intersect. In this session, we explored how creatives from all backgrounds—from artists to program directors—can develop curricula within the nonprofit sector. Using examples from a variety of organizations, we highlighted a strengths-based approach to program development that builds on existing community assets and fosters connection, collaboration, and togetherness.

Want to learn more about the work we do at Jubilee Arts? Follow us to stay connected, and don’t forget to register for our Summer 2026 session beginning July 6th.

We can’t wait to create with you!

Join us Tuesday, June 16th, at the Maryland Arts Summit! 🥳

We will be presenting about bridging community organizations and teaching artistry to create impactful programming at this meaningful conference, created by and for Maryland’s arts sector. Shout out to our phenomenal teaching artists who make what we do possible :) 🫂✊🏾

~

Rooted in the experience and expertise of the staff at Jubilee Arts, this 60-minute workshop explores how teaching artists can amplify their artistry while responding to community needs through intentional curriculum design. With a small staff supporting daily operations and outreach, Jubilee relies on a network of contracted teaching artists from across Baltimore, who are essential collaborators. These artists design and lead classes rooted in their own artistic practices while responding to the interests and needs of the demographic we serve as an organization.

Participants will leave with practical curriculum-building tools, collaborative strategies, and a clearer understanding of how teaching artists can use their creative practice to foster inclusive, socially impactful arts experiences.

Create with intention 🎨💭

This session at Jubilee Arts has been something special. For Conscious Creations, each class was challenged to think about how they use materials, finding ways to reduce, reuse, and reimagine everyday items into something new and meaningful. ♻️✨
Our students showed up each week with ideas, questions, and a real care for what they’re creating. There’s been so much growth, not just in skill, but in the way our artists think about their work and the world around them.
We’d love for you to come celebrate that with us at Conscious Creations, our end-of-session showcase. It’s a chance to see what everyone’s been working on, connect with the community, and just enjoy a really good evening together. ✨
