The art wasn’t just on the walls—it was in the room, in the stories, in the culture.

In this voiceover, reminds us why buying Black art matters: it’s how we protect our narratives, fund our futures, and make sure the next masterpiece has the support to exist.

Thank you to everyone who collected work and poured into the artists. Looking at it is love… purchasing it is power.

: ATLANTA! If My If My Hair Could Talk is January 13th!

I have been getting a lot of questions about how you can support if you cannot be in attendance, so here’s a nice list of ways:

- sponsor a ticket! you can purchase a ticket for someone else who may not be in the position to buy one.

- sponsor Artist materials. Our artists are hard at work to make sure the show is a success and their materials costs. (You can contact me for more details.)

- I need movers & a moving truck for the day. (This can also be a sponsor/write-off situation.)

- We need LOTS of braiding hair and bundles for an activation. Please connect me with beauty supply owners or wholesale vendors.

- Our hairstylists need smocks and chairs for the day. If you’re a local salon owner or have styling chairs, please connect with me.

Your support is so important to me! Thank you again for FOUR YEARS of continued support.

: Hi, all! Unfortunately, I have to cancel If My Hair Could Talk: Detroit on July 22nd. I am super sad, but in full transparency, I did not retain enough financial sponsors, nor participants in time to provide a quality experience. I have been blessed to put the show on in Atlanta for three years and watch it grow from the ground up, but planning my first show out of town without the proper resources and finances was not easy and I was met with defeat.

I will be contacting vendors and artists who did submit inquiries for participation, and letting them know about future dates.

In the meantime, If My Hair Could Talk 2024 in Atlanta is still scheduled for January 13th. Please save the date.

Please follow along with my journey of planning this show on Instagram My Hair Could Talk.

Thank you to everyone who has assisted me in any type of promoting or planning your help did not go unnoticed.
