Craggy Mountain Line Railroad Craggy Mountain Line Railroad is a recreational railroad that offers rides along the last three miles of the historic track first travelled in 1889!

We offer a host of family fun activities by the riverside while protecting a part of Asheville heritage! Formed in 2001, Craggy Mountain Line Inc. owns a 3.45 rail line in Woodfin, North Carolina which they are repairing and restoring historical trains and trolleys to operate on the rails for visitors to experience. Craggy Mountain Line is restoring a 5 car train with 2 trolleys-one an original As

heville trolley, two cabooses, and an engine. Though still under construction, the organization's plan is to have a depot for visitors to purchase tickets to ride the rails, have a meal at the restaurant, and explore railroad memorabilia from museum artifacts about the railroad. It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our good friend Don Kosur who left us on June 3, 2026.
Don has been with us since 2001. He was a machinist by trade and the most talented one I ever met.
Don was a very good friend of mine personally and certainly of the Railroad. He served faithfully for over 25 years and he will be greatly missed. We cannot put into words just how much we will miss Don, he did so many things at the Railroad  as you will see from the pictures we are posting we’ve all had so many wonderful memories together. 
Don loved his motorcars and was an avid memorabilia collector with great knowledge of railroading and memorabilia.
He could build or make almost anything and was such a blessing to all who knew him.
I find myself at a loss for words, so please take a look at all these wonderful pictures we’re gonna put up as we honor and remember Don Kosur for his great contribution to Railroad preservation and the Craggy Mountain Line. We will miss you Don and our prayers are with his family.
