Rio Grande Art Association

Rio Grande Art Association Membership is open to everyone and all media. Each month we have a demonstration or presentation by a local art professional.

Celebrating our 25th anniversary, the Rio Grande Art Association (RGAA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the education and promotion of New Mexico artists. The Rio Grande Art Association's monthly meetings (no meetings in July or December) give you an opportunity to meet other artists, learn some techniques to flex your art muscles, and to inspire your creativity! Each year we sponsor

a national juried show, Encantada; and co-sponsor Masterworks of New Mexico, which features the work of New Mexico artists. We welcome anyone interest in art, particularly those artists who work in oils, acrylics, casein, egg tempera, oil pastels, encaustic, mixed media, or any of the painting media that are exhibited without glass.

It’s All About Relationships but Keep Your Distance
Painting with intention is all about combining the relationships between color, value, line, form, size, and position. However, it is a challenge to “keep your distance” to be able to adjust and improve your works.
