[Closing this week at Mizuma Gallery (Singapore)]

Our current exhibition in Singapore, 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 & 𝘍𝘪𝘨𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴, will end on Sunday, 26 April 2026. Do visit us and view these works that offer a glimpse into the inner worlds of Agan Harahap, Agus Suwage, Budi Agung Kuswara, Gilang Fradika, I Made Djirna, and Jumaadi.

The gallery will be closed from Monday, 27 April to 15 May 2026. Do join us for the opening of our next exhibition, 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯, 𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, on 16 May 2026.

Mizuma Gallery is pleased to present 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯, 𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, a group exhibition by Dylan Chan, Ezzam Rahman, and Perception3, opening on 16 May 2026. 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯, 𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 reflects on how we continually recalibrate ourselves—materially, spatially, and inwardly—to meet the demands of everyday life. Rather than offering neat resolutions, the exhibition focuses on the small, ongoing adjustments through which people carve out room to breathe, rest, and relate to others.

Thank you everyone who came through our doors during our programmes at the gallery during our Breakfast with Artist and Artist Talk programmes Saturday! We hope you enjoyed the local fare and kopi in the presence of the artist Kemalezedine.

Special thanks to Mr. Teo Han Wue for facilitating an artist talk in the afternoon, leading us with gusto in learning more about the role tradition, spirituality play in modernisation through insights of the artist. Thank you so much!

𝘓𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤 departs from a liminal condition in which Balinese tradition no longer exists in its original form, yet has not been completely abandoned. Tradition and modernity meet, interfere with each other, and give birth to a tense space of negotiation.

In this exhibition, Kemal uses the concept of relics as the main metaphor. Relics, which are usually seen as sacred remnants, are presented not merely as old objects, but as cultural memory that is fragile, fragmented pieces yet retaining their aura. Balinese paintings, such as Kamasan wayang figures and traditional ornaments, are treated as living relics, not as decorations, but as traces that continue to change.

Kemal presents fragmented, layered, and intervened works.
