𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝟭𝟲𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗹! 🇵🇭✨

Today, we honor the life and legacy of our beloved national hero, born on June 19, 1861, whose brilliance, courage, and patriotism continue to inspire generations of Filipinos.

Did you know that Dr. Rizal had Chinese ancestry? His paternal lineage traces back to Domingo Lam-co, a Chinese merchant from Fujian, China, who migrated to the Philippines in the late 1600s. Overcoming hardship and persecution, Lam-co became a successful entrepreneur and the founder of the distinguished Mercado family — the very family that would one day give the Philippines its greatest hero.

It is a testament to the enduring legacy of the Chinese community in shaping the nation we know and love today. A legacy we continue to celebrate and preserve right here at the Sugbu Chinese Heritage Museum.
