As part of ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—ž๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐˜†๐˜€๐—ฎ๐˜†๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฒ, youth participants stepped into nearly three centuries of history at the 1730 Jesuit House Museum last June 20, 2026.

Within the walls of one of the oldest surviving residential structures in the Philippines, participants encountered stories of faith, trade, family life, and the multicultural influences that helped shape Cebu and the nation.

This initiative, made possible through the partnership of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI), SKF Philippines, and the Cebu City Youth Development Office (CCYDO), serves as a reminder that heritage is not merely something we inherit; it is something we actively preserve, understand, and pass on.

May these encounters with history encourage the next generation to become stewards of our shared cultural legacy.

Today, we celebrate the birth of ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‰๐จ๐ฌ๐žฬ ๐‘๐ข๐ณ๐š๐ฅ!, the Philippinesโ€™ national hero, whose ideas, writings, and sacrifice helped shape the course of our nationโ€™s history.

Few remember that before he became a renowned hero and intellectual, Rizal was educated by the Jesuits at the Ateneo Municipal de Manila. Under their guidance, he excelled academically, developed a lifelong love for learning, and cultivated the discipline and critical thinking that would later define his work. Rizal himself often spoke fondly of his years at Ateneo, where he graduated with flying colors.

As a museum dedicated to preserving Cebuโ€™s Jesuit heritage, the 1730 Jesuit House Museum joins the nation in honoring Rizalโ€™s legacy and reflecting on the enduring impact of Jesuit education in forming leaders, scholars, and citizens committed to the common good.

On this special day, we remember not only the hero who inspired a nation, but also the student whose education helped shape the man he would become.
