📢𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

In light of the ongoing energy crisis and its far-reaching impact on our communities and the increasing pressures faced by our partner institutions, we have made the decision to reschedule Gabii sa Kabilin (GSK) to May 2027.

We remain committed to celebrating our shared culture and will continue with smaller events along the way, including GSK’s 20th-year kickoff this October in line with Museum and Galleries Month.

The 3rd Gabii sa Kaalam lit up the Liberty Shrine in Lapu-Lapu City last April 13, 2026, bringing together trivia lovers for a night of fun, learning, and heritage. Held in support of the series of activities for Kadaugan sa Mactan, the venue made every question feel even more meaningful as teams battled it out on historic ground.

From clever answers to exciting moments, it was truly a night to remember. Thank you to everyone who joined and celebrated Gabii sa Kaalam with us!

The Gabii sa Kabilin Learning Session with Partner Sites brought together hearts and minds committed to keeping our culture alive and welcoming. In that space, Speaker Hembler Mendoza gently guided everyone through the idea of the “Heritage Welcoming Standard”. It's not just as a guideline, but as a way of honoring guests, stories, and traditions with deeper cultural hospitality and care.

And as the day unfolded, one truth lingered in the air: when we welcome others into our heritage with sincerity, we also ensure that it continues to live on through them.

The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI), Gabii sa Kabilin, Casa Gorordo Museum, and The Kabilin Center in partnership with the Cebu City Government – Cultural and Historical Affairs Office (CHAO), successfully held a workshop last March 20, 2026 pertaining to the conservation of Cebu’s sacred art.

Beyond the one-night Gabii sa Kabilin event, this initiative highlights our collective commitment to ensuring that Cebu’s sacred images remain significant for future generations, keeping both devotion and history alive.
