Museo Sugbo The Official page of Museo Sugbo
(Cebu Provincial Museum) The museum opened its first four galleries on August 5, 2008.

Museo Sugbo is Cebuโ€™s provincial museum, housed in the former Cรกrcel de Cebรบโ€”once the main prison for the Visayas. Designed by Spanish architect Domingo de Escondrillas in 1869, the building served as the Cebu Provincial Jail during the American and post-war periods, and was later renamed the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) in the 1980s. After CPDRC relocated to a more modern facility in 2004, the historic site was transformed into Museo Sugboโ€”a vibrant home for Cebuano heritage. Following a two-year hiatus, Museo Sugbo proudly reopened its doors on August 28, 2025โ€”renewed in spirit and more committed than ever to celebrating Cebuโ€™s rich history.
