We are pleased to announce the participation of David Rickard in Water Flow. Acqua, arte, scienza, umanità, an exhibition developed through a collaboration between MUSE - Science Museum in Trento and MART, which was inaugurated yesterday on the 9th of October!

Selected through an open call, Rickard presents The River’s Voice, a research-based project investigating the historical and cultural relationship between the Adige River and the city of Trento. Drawing on archival research, technological innovation and community participation, the project explores how the river’s nineteenth-century channelling altered its relationship with the urban environment and its inhabitants. Through sound and artificial intelligence, Rickard seeks to reconsider the river as a living presence and restore its place within the collective experience of the city.

The exhibition also features the work of Francesco Jodice, another artist presented by us, in a separate section of the project.

Today's artist focus is dedicated to Mariateresa Sartori.

Her practice investigates how we perceive, measure, and interpret reality, exploring the distance between empirical observation and subjective experience. Through scientific methods, behavioural studies, language, sound, and the observation of natural phenomena, Sartori examines the systems through which we construct our understanding of the world and the limits inherent to any attempt at objective knowledge.

Today we will focus on Andres Serrano’s artwork: Death Unknown (The Morgue), 1992.

The series The Morgue portrays deceased individuals inside a city mortuary, captured in their final state after death.
Through a studio-like approach, Serrano shifts the conventional representation of corpses, striving to give his subjects dignity, respect, and a solemn presence.

We are pleased to announce the opening of Fabio Mauri. Gli anni dell’Aquila, curated by Maurizio Cattelan and Marta Papini, at Palazzo Ardinghelli, MAXXI L’Aquila, from 26 September 2026 to 24 January 2027.

The project includes the exhibition Fabio Mauri. Gli anni dell’Aquila, curated by Maurizio Cattelan and Marta Papini, presented in the museum’s spaces, as well as the revival, after more than fifty years, of the historic performance Che cos’è il fascismo. Festa in onore del generale Ernst von Hussel di passaggio per Roma (1971).

The performance will premiere on Saturday, 26 September, returning to the stage more than fifty years after its original presentation, under the direction of Giancarlo Gentilucci, in collaboration with the Accademia di Belle Arti dell’Aquila.

On the occasion of the opening, the performance will be presented on Saturday, 26 September at 11:30 am and 5:30 pm at the Istituto di Istruzione Superiore “Amedeo D’Aosta”, Via Acquasanta 5, L’Aquila.

In the exhibition text distributed in Rome on the evening of 2 April 1971, Mauri wrote:

“Here, in a short space of time, one experiences false ideology, the abyss of institutionalised superficiality, the tautology of absolute power, the intimate malignity of the lie concealed within order, the shame of cultural confusion, the irresponsibility of those who arrogate to themselves the freedom of collective judgement, the deception of youth, which brings grace and trust as a prelude to every massacre of its own.”

Through its reflection on fascism and the mechanisms of power, the work continues to question the relationship between ideology, memory, and responsibility.
