Stefano De Paolis and Bianca Millan will be part of SOUND BIESENTHAL, Art Biesenthal 2026, curated by Domenico Positano.

Central to the exhibition is sound itself — not only as a medium, but as a conceptual tool through which questions of perception, space, memory, and social relations are considered.

We are pleased to announce our participation in Riga Contemporary 2026 with a solo project by Maria Luiza Toral — the first monographic presentation of the artist with the gallery.

Maria Luiza Toral (1998, São Paulo, BR) is an artist and anthropologist whose research begins with an anthropological approach to discarded materials from the city of São Paulo, transforming them into supports for formal abstractions built through painting and collage. She works primarily with plastic, glass, and acrylic — transparent materials that, once installed, render the exhibition space itself visible, placing in tension the conventional reading of the art object and the strategies of its placement. Her work proposes a conceptual play between inside and outside, in which displacing, organizing, and reconfiguring marginalized objects generates layers of meaning — pictorial among them.
