Várunk mindenkit szeretettel Barbara Gocníková: Broken Altar (Isolation of Father) című egyéni kiállításunk megnyitójára július 30-án 19 órakor.

A Keszegh Ágnes kurátori közreműködésével megvalósuló kiállítás a család öröklött mintáit és hatalmi viszonyait vizsgálja az apa figuráján keresztül. A lírai hangvételű, multiszenzorális installáció a személyes emlékezetet a kelet-európai történelmi tapasztalatok tágabb összefüggéseivel kapcsolja össze.

We warmly invite you to the opening of our next exhibition, Barbara Gocníková: Broken Altar (Isolation of Father), on 30 July at 7 pm.

Curated by Keszegh Ágnes, the exhibition explores inherited family patterns and power relations through the figure of the father. Through a lyrical, multisensory installation, Gocníková intertwines personal memory with the broader historical experience of Eastern Europe, inviting viewers to reflect on the connections between intimate family narratives and collective histories.

🐚🐑 Tegnap este éjszakai tárlatvezetést tartottunk a Cave of forgotten dreams című kiállításunkon a két kiállító művésszel, Vető Orsolya Liával és Vidra Rékával, valamint a kiállítás kurátorával, Meggyesházi Édával. Nagyon köszönjük, hogy ilyen velünk tartottatok! Ha még nem láttátok a kiállítást, jövő héten szerdától péntekig, 16:00 és 19:00 óra között még megtekinthető a Liget Galériában.

🐚🐑 Last night, we held a nocturnal guided tour of our exhibition Cave of forgotten dreams together with the exhibiting artists, Orsolya Lia Vető and Réka Vidra, and the exhibition's curator, Éda Meggyesházi. Thank you for joining us.

🐚🐑 Vidra Réka képzőművész, a Magyar Képzőművészeti Egyetem grafika tanszékén diplomázott, jelenleg Budapesten él és dolgozik. Munkáiban az animal studies különböző elméleteinek bevonásával és értelmezésével keresi a választ arra a kérdésre, hogy létezhet-e olyan alternatív gondolkodásmód, amely meghaladja a nyugati kultúra antropocentrikus nézőpontját, és amennyiben igen, hogyan segíthetné elő a művészet annak integrálását az uralkodó társadalmi szemléletmódba.

Művészeti érdeklődésének középpontjában álló nem emberi-létezőket különböző médiumok bevonásával, az utóbbi években főként textil, gyapjú, agyag és kerámiakísérletekkel közelíti meg. Bízik abban, hogy a nem-emberi létezőkkel szembeni magatartásunk megváltoztatásával az ember-ember közötti kapcsolatok is fejleszthetők, valamint a természeti környezet iránti felelősségünk erősíthető, a vele való kapcsolatunk is javítható.

🐚🐑 Réka Vidra is a visual artist, graduated from the Department of Graphic Arts at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and is currently living and working in Budapest. Her practice engages with a range of theoretical perspectives within animal studies, investigating whether alternative modes of thought might exist beyond the anthropocentric framework of Western culture and, if so, how art might contribute to their integration into dominant social consciousness.

The non-human beings that occupy a central place in her artistic inquiry are approached through a variety of media. In recent years, her practice has focused particularly on experimental work with textiles, wool, clay, and ceramics. Her work is grounded in the conviction that transforming our relationship to non-human beings can also reshape relationships between people, while deepening our sense of responsibility toward the natural environment and fostering a more attentive and reciprocal connection with it.

🐑🐚 Vető Orsolya Lia (1991, Budapest) 2014-ben diplomázott a Magyar Képzőművészeti Egyetem festőművész szakán, képzőművészeti doktori tanulmányait pedig a Pécsi Tudományegyetemen végezte. Alkotói tevékenysége az organikus absztrakció, illetve a gesztusfestészet hazai és nemzetközi áramlataival egyaránt rokonítható. A festékanyag „viselkedése” és a természet organikus folyamatai közti analógiák vizuális kutatása foglalkoztatja. Festői nyelvezetét az élőlényszerű ecsetvonások és az egymásba mosódó, neonos és pasztelles frekvenciákat egyaránt bejáró színmezők határozzák meg. A képfelszínek a fluiditás logikáját hangsúlyozzák. A különböző viszkozitású festékrétegekből és eltérő tempójú mozdulatokból építkező alkotói folyamat a természet fizikai törvények által befolyásolt nyomhagyását, formálódását és mintázatait idézi. Vető munkáiban a halmozódó festékanyag áttűnései felfedik a képek keletkezéstörténetét és fiktív terek geológiai múltjába vezetnek.

🐑🐚 Orsolya Lia Vető (b. 1991, Budapest) graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts’ Painting Department in 2014 and completed her doctoral studies at the University of Pécs. Her artistic practice resonates with both Hungarian and international tendencies of organic abstraction and gestural painting. At the heart of her work lies an exploration of the correspondences between the “behavior” of paint and the organic processes of nature. Her painterly language is shaped by living, organic brushstrokes and by fields of colour that dissolve into one another, connecting luminous neon intensities and delicate pastel tones. The surfaces of her paintings emphasize the logic of fluidity. Built through layers of paint of varying viscosities and gestures unfolding at different tempos, her process evokes the formations and patterns through which nature leaves its mark under the influence of physical forces. In Vető's works, translucent passages within the accumulating layers reveal the paintings’ own histories of becoming, drawing the viewer into the geological memory of imagined spaces.

The late evening setting offers a unique opportunity to experience the exhibition from a different perspective, exploring its themes through a new atmosphere and in a different light. The tour will be led jointly by the exhibiting artists, Orsolya Lia Vető and Réka Vidra, together with the show’s curator, Éda Meggyesházi.
