PALETA MINIMA: Featuring Nabaek & August Punzal

Experience a powerful dialogue between raw texture and evocative abstraction as Kambal Gallery presents "Paleta Minima," featuring South Korean artist Nabaek and Filipino artist August Punzal.

Korean artist NABAEK brings his signature briquette and coal mediums to life, capturing themes of warmth, endurance, and quiet reflection through deeply tactile compositions. Alongside him, former banker-turned-abstract artist AUGUST PUNZAL explores memory, global cultures, and emotional landscapes through minimal palette and layered expressiveness. Together, their works strip form down to its essential spirit.

Step into the intricate monochrome worlds of Mark Argarin and Richard de la Cruz at PALETA MINIMA!

Discover the captivating creative visions of two distinct Filipino artists at Kambal Gallery:

MARK ARGARIN
Award-winning Filipino visual artist Mark Argarin brings his celebrated versatility to PALETA MINIMA. A Fine Arts graduate from the University of the East, Argarin spent over two decades as a successful creative director in advertising before returning full-time to his passion for painting in 2022—winning 2nd Prize at the 2022 GSIS National Art Competition that same year.

His featured piece, Pearl of the Orient, masterfully captures the nation’s natural beauty, rich abundance of pearls, vibrant flora and fauna, and revered people through his signature, intricate line work.

RICHARD DE LA CRUZ
Hailing from Oton, Iloilo, Richard de la Cruz creates deeply resonant, monochromatic masterpieces and known for fusing geometric textures into volumetric forms that evoke carved relief sculptures. He draws inspiration from the quiet dignity of laborers and everyday life. A multi-year finalist in prestigious awards like MADE, the Philippine Art Awards, and ArtPetron, his work masterfully weaves themes of resilience, society, and existence.

The Face of the Faces, is a portrait composed of hundreds of tiny, detailed faces and scenes of daily life, a powerful visual metaphor for how collective identity and human dignity are built from the individual stories of everyday people.

PALETA MINIMA brings together four distinct voices redefining surface, color, and form:

DALE BAGTAS
Dale Bagtas is a contemporary artist, interior designer, and grand prize winner of prestigious competitions, including the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) Award (2021) and GSIS Art Competition (2019). Renowned for his dynamic abstraction, rich impasto textures, and tactile sculptural paint applications, his works convey joy, optimism, and raw emotion.

KENDALL COLINDON
Contemporary artist Kendall Colindon explores the delicate equilibrium between nature and urban modernism. He uses muted tones, layered textures, and atmospheric patterns to comment on urban decay, environmental sustainability, and the temporary footprint of human civilization.

IRENE HAAGEN
Irene Haagen champions contemporary art while actively creating works in various mixed media and acrylics. Her dual perspective as a gallery director and practicing artist gives her work a global perspective.

NOEL SADICON
Industrial designer turned visual artist, Noel Sadicon focuses on structured forms, design driven aesthetics, and conceptual depth.

MEET THE ARTISTS: PALETA MINIMA

PALETA MINIMA brings together a compelling convergence of material mastery, spatial balance, and expressive precision proving that a restrained palette invites a much deeper dialogue.

Get to know four of the featured visionaries transforming distinct physical media into powerful visual stories:

DAVID KAUFMAN
Working with monumental stone and raw, unyielding materials, Kaufman gives new life to "unused, unloved, and disregarded" factory offcuts, sculpting forgotten stone into striking new forms.

VINCENT DIÑOSO
Painting on translucent medical gauze with ink and acrylic, Diñoso layers delicate fabric to render spectral, ethereal human figures that explore weightlessness and vulnerability.

DMOSAIC
Elevating eco-conscious art, DMOsaic meticulously transforms cleaned and preserved eggshell fragments into intricate, multi-layered mosaic masterpieces.

AMADOR INLAYO
Fusing Cubism with traditional subjects, the Antipolo-based artist transforms preliminary sketches into geometric compositions depicting nature, family, and the rhythms of daily life.

Less color, infinitely more depth.

PALETA MINIMA brings together an exceptional roster of Filipino and international artists challenged to strip away the noise and work within intentional color constraints. Across sculpture, mosaic, geometric abstraction, and monochrome illustration, this cross-cultural show proves that when color is disciplined, form, texture, and core essence speak the loudest.
