Barton House Railway A miniature garden railway based on the Midland And Great Northern Railway. Open 3rd Sunday Apr - Oct Open 3rd Sunday between April and October.

A 3 1/2 and 7 1/4 inch gauge garden railway based on the Midland And Great Northern Railway. With a full signalling system operated with heritage equipment, and traditional tickets. Conway performed incredibly well over our running today, there was always a queue waiting for rides.
Here is a video of one of our Junior volunteers having a drive at the end of the running. We hope anyone who attended today enjoyed themselves, if you took any photos, we would love to see them, please like and share us to your friends.

Our next running is on July 19th from 1pm-4:30pm, Admission is £10 an adult and £5 a child and this includes the boat trip from Wroxham Bridge, unlimited train rides and free Tea, Coffee and Squash from Dickersons Diner

For the first time in many years, we have a steam engine ticketed for use on the 3 1/2" gauge Midland Railway.

The loco 'Conway' is a Martin Evans design of a Quarry Hunslet, it was built by our former engineer Ken Swales and ran for a number of runnings many years ago, until a superheater leak put a stop to play.

The loco is planned to be test run during the running today ahead of our Summer Steam Family Day in August and it may be necessary to swap for one of our electric locos.

Do come along and visit us today and hopefully get a ride behind this engine, £10 an Adult and £5 a Child with unlimited train rides and free Tea, Coffee and Squash from Dickersons Diner, We also have the electric boat in operation from Wroxham Bridge and Drive an Engine on the top lawn.

It’s Father’s Day tomorrow. Which means we are open from 1pm, The weather looks like it’s going to be lovely. Come and enjoy Miniature Steam Train rides, Refreshments from Dickersons Diner and Boat trips from Wroxham Bridge.

Find the boat from Granary Quay which is opposite the water from Broads Tours (What3Words ///panning.redeeming.forever)

Prices are £10 per adult and £5 per child which include unlimited train rides and free Tea, Coffee or Squash.

We hope to have a surprise which we can hopefully announce later, keep your eyes peeled.

Don’t forget tomorrow is our May running,

From this running there are NO tickets to deal with, all entry is £10 per adult and £5 per child, this includes a free trip on the boat from Wroxham bridge, unlimited train journeys on both the Midland and Riverside railway as well as free Tea, Coffee and Squash from Dickersons Diner.

Drive an Engine, other refreshments and Signalbox entry will still be chargeable,

Good morning everyone,
We hope you have been enjoying the nice weather.

Things are changing at our railway.
From our May running you will just pay one entry fee and the afternoon is yours. Ride the steam/electric trains on both railways as much as you like, visit the museum and also enjoy free tea/coffee and squash.
The only additional things to pay for are the 'drive a loco' and a small donation to visit the signal box.
There will be no more tickets to keep hold of, no more 1st class or 3rd class options.

Good afternoon everyone
Firstly, thank you to everyone that visited us on Easter Monday. It was a brilliant turn out with lots of new visitors.

Secondly, we are open tomorrow as advertised from 13:00 to 16:30. Steam trains, electric trains, boat trips and a museum to look round. Also refreshments available too.

Prices start from £5.00 entry per adult and £2.50 per child.
