As the new mannequin arrived this morning I thought I would get some of the items which the Michigan Flight Museum in the USA sent to us ready for display in the NFAHG museum
The mannequin is just right for the displaying of the flight suit , flying helmet , goggles and gunners gloves. The 50 mission crush hat is ready for display as well. I have put the mannequin in a pair of British issue flying boots just to complete its look. Many thanks must go to Julie the Curator at the Michigan Flight Museum for donating the items and also many thanks to Sarah Grivas also from Michigan for contacting and organising with the MFG their kind gifts.

A large box arrived today after winging it's way thousands of miles across the Atlantic Ocean. It contained a USAAF world war two flight overall, a leather flying helmet, a pair of flying goggles with spare coloured lenses, a pair of leather fur lined flying gloves, a peaked cap with a separate bad weather cover plus two manuals to do with the Consolidated B24 Liberator heavy bomber. All these wonderful things have been very kindly donated to the NFAHG museum by the Michigan Flight Museum in the USA . This donation was only made possible by the contacting of the Curatorial Director of the Michigan museum by the NFAHG'S wonderful American friend ,Sara Grivas . We are extremely thankful to to them both for this generous gift. They will be going on display in the NFAHG museum collection rooms very shortly.

I have just received a wonderful package at the museum this morning. It contained these super items very, very kindly sent from the USA by the Echols family. Twin brothers Don and John Echols served as waist gunners with the 458th Bomb Group at RAF Horsham Saint Faith in WW2. The picture depicts two of the B24 Liberator bombers they flew some of their missions in, The Belle Of Boston and Roughriders. This is an absolutely outstandingly generous gift to the museum from the Echols family , they will go on display in the museum "Libby's Tea Hut" for all to see and enjoy. Words cannot simply convey our gratitude to the family.
