A very big thank you to Nigel, Ken and Paul for coming to the NFAHG museum on Saturday to put the final "finishing touches" to the concrete pad for the new extension building . The slope for the entrance and the edging round the pad is now drying nicely. The building of the framework for the new extension can now go ahead.

If anyone has any old sheets , blankets , duvet covers or suchlike that are no longer needed we would dearly like them for the NFAHG museum . Display Mannequins and some of the exhibits can be wrapped up and covered up with these items for the museum's Winter shutdown period . Many thanks if you can help with these items, we would be most grateful indeed.

A. great last 2024 Open Day for the New Farm Aviation Heritage Group's Museum Collection rooms today Sunday 27th Oct . A really busy day in the museum with lots of visitors throughout the day which kept the NFAHG volunteers busy all day answering questions , explaining about exhibits and generally chatting with everyone ,so a big thank you to all of the volunteers who gave their time today and of course through the past year as well. We did see lots of new visitors and faces through the day and of course also the visitors and old friends who have returned once again for another look round and a catch up. We also had about 24 cars from the MX2 Owners Club pay us a visit in the their wonderful sports cars and they spent a lot of time looking round the museum and we thank them for coming along, a real pleasure to see you all. The museums "Libby's Tea Hut" was kept very busy and a big thank you goes to Hazel and Jeff who kept things running in there. Peter in the NFAHG shop was also kept very busy as well and we thank him for looking after things in there once again . Some visitors also very kindly brought several aviation related items into us for donation to the museum and will be out on display in the future with the relevant information about them . It has been in general a extremely busy year for the NFAHG as whole ,not just the museum open days but offsite venues we have visited with our NFAHF Roadshow and of course our recovery dig sites and airfield excavations in general . A new display room at the NFAHG museum is on the cards for next year to have the room to display the artefacts etc that need to go on show, so a busy Autumn and Winter is ahead of us. Not forgetting of course this year the Belle Of Boston Memorial unveiling and dedication that took place at the museum at New Farm on May 12th to mark 2024 being the 80th anniversary of its crash in Frettenham close to the NFAHG museum. The highlight of this ceremony being having in our midst on the day Mrs Angie Ross and her Son Brant Ross who had travelled over from the USA to unveil the memorial . Angie's father Sgt Albert Nix was the Ball Turret Gunner of the Belle Of Boston and thankfully survived the crash that fateful day on May 8th 1944 . It was great pleasure and honour to have the both of them stay with us for a week or so at New Farm and have the opportunity to be able to show them round Norwich and Norfolk. Another great happening this year has been having 99 year old Mr Ray Parkes come to the museum to give us a fantastic talk about his 40+ bombing missions he flew in WW2 as a Flight Engineer in Avro Lancasters with 218 Squadron RAF . A truly memorable event to be able to in the company of this outstanding gentleman , in fact Ray is now the Honourary President of the NFAHG . Our next Open Day at the museum is on the second Sunday of April 2025 . So with a "fair wind" and "elbow grease" it is "onwards and upwards" for the NFAHG in 2025 and a final big thank you to all the NFAHG members and museum visitors who have made this year so memorable !!!
Trevor and Carol.
