Wimborne Needlework Fiesta
Sat 17th & Sun 18th October, 10am – 4pm

A new, two-day event comes to Allendale Community Centre this October. Wimborne Needlework Fiesta offers a wide range of needlework solutions, with stalls packed with haberdashery, materials, threads and great crafting ideas to browse. The Fiesta will be open between 10am and 4pm on both days.

Richard Smith UK Tour 2026

We welcome Richard Smith back to the Allendale this November! If you've seen Richard here before, you'll know he's one of the world's top guitar players.

Born in the UK, now resident in the US, he's back in this country for an autumn tour. If you appreciate top-level musicianship and great entertainment, don't miss this date!

Richard is very ably supported by the more-local Bob Carter, himself a consummate musician. Two excellent guitarists at a very reasonable ticket price - limited tickets available.

RiverMind Concert
Sunday 11th October. 7.30pm

RiverMind Concert is the premiere of a new musical work dedicated to our local rivers, by composer Karen Wimhurst.

This is a chance to be immersed in song, indigenous wisdom and the aliveness of our precious rivers. Featuring Soprano Brittany Soriano; Bass Ed Bersey; Vibes Naomi Maddick; Palida Choir and friends. The event will also feature visuals and sound recordings from the River Stour and River Allen, by Adrian Newton.

Central Southern Gauge O Group
Wimborne Model Railway Show
Sunday 25th October, 10am - 4pm

The Central Southern Gauge O Group (CSGOG) will be holding their Annual Model Railway Exhibition on Sunday 25th October. £8 per adult with accompanied children free. On display will be O gauge models (that’s twice the size of the more common Hornby Trains). There will be numerous operational layouts; the group’s own large test track; model engineering demo; model railway traders; a bring & buy stall and railway societies. Our show has been described as ‘the show to go to’ and ‘it ticks all the boxes’.

Bob Barter’s 99th Birthday Jazz

This November, Bob Barter will be celebrating his 99th Birthday with an evening of his favourite jazz music in The Allendale Café, and he invites you all to come and celebrate this special day with him and his band.

Bob Barter is a veteran musical arranger and director. He took a degree in music at Birmingham (piano/clarinet) and first appeared on the BBC in 1958. Bob moved into dance and then jazz in the 60s, conducting big bands from the piano. He developed links with American jazz musicians through Humphrey Lyttleton, before becoming musical director and pianist to the great Kathy Kirby in the late 70s and 80s. Later, Bob was a music advisor and teacher to the German School for Great Britain in Richmond (piano, sax, clarinet, brass) until he retired to Poole.

While still performing regularly in London to this day, Bob has also been a regular on the billing here at Allendale Community Centre and we can't think of a better way to celebrate his 99th Birthday.

Doors open at 7pm. Eyes Down at 7:30pm

£4 per game sheet, with 6 panels on each sheet.

We give full prize pot returns, with prizes for one line, two lines and a full house.
