Quarterjack Quilters Patchwork & Quilting Exhibition & Sale

Quarterjack Quilters of Wimborne are holding their 2026 Exhibition on 4th & 5th July, at the Allendale.

On display will be a wide variety of quilts and other textile items made by our members. These will range from king-size bed quilts to pin cushions – with a wide selection in between! A number of quilts will be offered for sale.

Sarah Bolter & ‘Not Just Sax’ return to Allendale Community Centre with another fantastic jazz show. They will be performing a matinee and evening performance with special guest Derek Nash.

‘Not Just Sax', are a group of four professional musicians from the south led by Sarah Bolter on sax, flute, clarinet and vocals. The band share a love of melodic, rhythmic jazz and enjoy pushing the boundaries of the idiom with both a variety of well-known jazz favourites and more obscure choices. Often billed as ‘Count Basie to Carole King’, the band enjoy a wide repertoire and appeal to audiences of all ages.

Derek Nash is probably the UK’s busiest and most versatile saxophonist, who has been part of Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra since 2004, is a member of Ronnie Scott’s Blues Explosion and tours extensively with his stage celebration show of Stevie Wonder, ‘The Wonder of Stevie.’ Derek has shared the stage with numerous people including Tom Jones, Eric Clapton, David Sanborn, Amy Winehouse and Michael Bublé.

Casting Notice: Open Auditions
Allendale Theatre Company
Presents: Round The Horne

Our inaugural production will be a live recreation of the timeless BBC radio show, Round The Horne, performed in front of an audience in the style of a radio recording.

We plan for two matinee performances, on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th September, and we're now looking for actors to portray Kenneth Horne, Kenneth Williams, Hugh Paddick, Betty Marsden and Douglas Smith, plus two live sound effects performers.

Can you see - or rather hear - yourself in one of these roles? If so, we're holding an Open Audition on Sunday 5th July, 6pm to 8pm.
Ideal actors should be able to commute daily to Wimborne, Dorset for rehearsals and performances.

Allendale Lunch Club

Come and join us for our monthly Lunch Club. A delicious 2-course meal awaits, prepared on the premises, with tea and coffee included. Dietary requirements can be catered for. This event is located in The Allendale Cafe, and will include a raffle.
Chicken Casserole is our feature dish this month, with a vegetarian option of mixed vegetable casserole, both served with mashed potato and followed by sticky toffee pudding and ice cream.

A big thank you to the Co-op in Wimborne

The Allendale Food Supply was delighted to collect another generous donation of fresh food from the Co-op in Wimborne, part of the Co-op Group.

Duty staff and volunteers from Allendale Community Centre collect these donations from the Co-op in Wimborne every day. There is also a customer donation point within the store, where Co-op customers can also help to support Allendale Food Supply and all those in need within our local community.

The fresh meals, fruit and vegetables will be used by Allendale Food Supply to help prepare meals for local people and families in Wimborne who need a bit of extra support.

Working together, the Co-op and the Allendale Community Centre are not only helping to feed people in our community, but also helping to prevent good food from going to waste.
