🎄✨ Something festive is coming to the Museum of East Dorset…

This November and December, our historic walled garden will be transformed with the arrival of the new Winter Gardens Marquee, sponsored by Nicholas Humphries Estate and Letting Agents.

Think festive trees, twinkling lights, warming hot chocolate, hot soup and mulled c***r, all tucked away in the heart of Wimborne. ✨

The festivities begin with our opening night on 6 November, followed by a programme of winter evening entertainment including live music, bingo and special events in the run up to Christmas. 🎶

Our evening events will also be supported by local favourites Eight Arch Brewery and Purbeck C***r, giving visitors the chance to enjoy some fantastic local brews. 🍻🍎

And it’s not just for the evenings. The Winter Gardens Marquee will be open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, providing a cosy spot to meet friends, warm up and escape the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping. ☕🎄

A herd of cows has been abducted by mischievous aliens and we need your help to bring them home.

Explore the museum, hunt for the missing cows and take on a series of space themed challenges along the way. There’s plenty for families to get stuck into, including:

🚀 Test your strength on the Rocket Striker
🛸 Navigate the giant space themed garden maze
🎨 Get creative at the craft table

🎃🧵 Get crafty this autumn with our Pumpkin Sewing Workshop!

Join Joanie at the Museum of East Dorset and learn how to create your very own handmade fabric pumpkins, perfect for bringing a cosy autumn touch to your home.

During the workshop, you’ll be guided step by step to make TWO pumpkins, one large and one small, both yours to take home and enjoy year after year. No previous sewing experience needed! 🍂

It was wonderful to see people coming together and enjoying the museum and garden spaces as part of the celebrations.

Today Wimborne Pride are running their autumn party at the Museum of East Dorset. This is hopefully the first of many events celebrating the diversity of our town.
