Kate Shephard Art Kate Shephard - Dorset artist. I create expressive, faith-inspired art, from vibrant abstracts to peaceful watercolours and Bible verse prints.

My pieces bring peace, joy, and soul into the home, offering beauty & heartfelt encouragement and inspiration. I live in Poole in Dorset in the UK and have been painting on and off since I was at school over 30 years ago. I opened my shop in 2013 - put up one item and then family life got the better of me as the kids were still 2 and 4 at that point. In the last few months I have started painting again and creating all sorts of bits and pieces so I thought I would re-open my shop again! A lot of my creations/paintings are largely inspired or sourced from the beautiful area that I live in but I take inspiration from lots of different areas of my life. I am lucky to live by the sea and love painting coastlines, sunsets etc. I particularly love using lots of colour and life and love striking scenery and subject matter. Colour makes me happy! :)
My crafty creations make lovely bespoke gifts for loved ones, family or friends and are great as occasion gifts for weddings, mothers day, valentines day, Christmas. Follow me on twitter : OR

Some paintings arrive knowing exactly what they are. For the one who keeps going, who chooses every day to believe things are getting better — feminine strength embraced in colour. 💛
Warm yellows, blush pink, deep magenta pulsing upward — a daily reminder that rising is always possible.

One wall. Every print. Watch how the whole room changes. 🤍
I love doing this — lining them all up and seeing how differently each piece makes the space feel. Same wall, same room, completely different energy. That's the power of art.
Which one feels like you?

Behind every painting is a very messy studio and a very happy artist. 🎨

I'm Kate — abstract artist on the Dorset coast, painting in oils, acrylics and watercolours from my home studio. Inspired by the sea, the garden and the ever-changing light on this beautiful stretch of coast

I paint because colour has the power to restore and uplift. I hope that's exactly what my work does for your home. 💛

This Made My Day 💛
There's nothing quite like hearing that someone loves their new piece. This lovely review just came through, and honestly, it means the world to me.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for welcoming my work into your space. It truly means everything 🌿

If your home needs somewhere to breathe — this is for you 💙
'Bramble Bush Bay Shores' is for the one who craves that particular stillness only the coast can give. Inspired by one of my favourite spots on the Dorset coast — Bramble Bush Bay in Studland — where the water sits so quietly and the rest of the world fades away

Sometimes it takes me a little while falling in love with something. I painted this one about six months ago and then I put it away because I couldn’t see where it was going. I’ve added a few touches to it and I really love it. What do you think? Is it too plain or do you like the simplicity of it? Let me know in the comments – I always love to hear from you guys. 😀👇

Studio expectations vs reality 😂
Those perfect studio shots? Rare sightings.
The paint-splattered chaos? That's my happy place.

Sometimes you just have to trust and leap. 🌿
This is 'Leap of Faith' — my original oil painting, framed and looking for its forever home. I painted this during a time of learning to move forward without all the answers. Yellow for joy, blue for calm, green for renewal — all merging in a beautiful dance of hope.
For anyone embarking on something new. 🤍
