We're looking forward to our last Open Weekend this year!

Park in Cranborne Middle School Car Park.
Pay by card only at the gate. Cash payments for BBQ food, teas, coffees & cakes & stalls onsite including archery.
£11 adults, £5.50 children. Under 4's free.
No dogs please due to livestock.

Bring your own apples to crush in our Roman Apple Press and a bottle to take some juice home with you!
We might be short on apples this year so all donations welcome!

See you there!

Apple Weekend 26th & 27th - Our last weekend of 2026

Come and see our wonderful barge-boards carved by our brilliant volunteers this year.

There's lots to see and do. Bring your apples to crush with others in our Roman Apple Press (and a small container)
Medieval Living History and Combat displays from The Sutton House Hold , Here Be Flagons historic music and drumming circles, storytelling, and have a go activities & craft stalls.
Hot BBQ food, teas & cakes supplied & cooked by Blandford Evening WI please bring cash if possible for food & stalls on site.

We're looking forward to welcoming back The Crick Crack Club for their first storytelling of the Autumn!

September already! Our first show of the season is the brand new Doom Scrolls – The Never-Ending Prophecies of the Sibyls, by the marvellous Lucy Lill.

Feared, revered and frequently misunderstood, the Sibyls stood at the crossroads of religion, politics and performance. Their visions promised answers while leaving everyone wondering what they actually meant.

From a mountain in the southeast of Italy to the depths of the underworld, Lucy Lill tells the stories of these women whose words founded cities, brought down armies and caused an epic amount of confusion.

Join us at Ancient Technology Centre on Saturday 12 September for a candlelit evening of uncertainty, as we invite you to bring your questions to place in front of the Sibyls. By the end of the evening, you will have an answer - not necessarily the answer you’re looking for, or even the answer to your question, but an answer nonetheless!

Catch the show at The Cube Microplex, Folklore Hoxton - Falkor and The Story Museum in September too! We foresee you enjoying it immensely...

Our wonderful volunteers will be heading to the Verwood Rustic Fayre this bank holiday Monday! They'll be demonstrating ancient crafts such as pole lathe wood turning, weaving and embossing. The event starts at 12.00 at Potterne Park in Verwood and is always a great day out.

If you're interested in volunteering with us they'll be very happy to chat to you about how it all works. Head over to their stall for a demonstration of their amazing skills and knowledge!

Huge thanks to our volunteers and to Allenbourn Middle School for allowing Martha to join them on their visit to the Centre!

Hello! The good news is our internet is back up so we are receiving emails as normal now. The bad news is that we are unable to answer phone calls currently. The answerphone is working so if you leave a message with your phone number we will phone you back as soon as possible! We're called the Ancient Technology Centre for a reason!

THE VOTES ARE IN! Everyone meet MORAG (brown) and ASTRID (grey). Thanks to everyone who helped us name our newest residents. They're settling in well with our two older boys Albert and Krypton (also pictured so they don't get jealous of all the attention!)
