Bought these at the weekend, no history for them so I don't know where they were picked or dug up from but interesting anyway. Fragments from a fuse 119. Fairly standard fuse on 25prs but also used on the bigger 4.5,5.5, 6inch etc.

We have just returned from a fantastic 2 day event - Lytham 1940s Wartime Weekend .
We had our own designated area & arena.

4 x 25pdrs & limbers, 1 x 6pdr , 2 x quads
A CDSW & Bofors, Tilly, C8GS, WDM20 motorcycle & 2 x jeeps....phew .......

We did an arena display both days firiing with the 25pdr & 6pdr coming in and out of action.
Then firing 2 x 25pdrs to open the battle and the 6pdr & jeep taking part in the battle and firing.

On the Sunday after the battle there was a minutes silence with one of our 25pdrs firing to start & end and a bagpipe playing throughout - very moving.

We're physically back home now but a few more runs with the low loader to retrieve the rest of the vehicles & guns.....

Next stop Southport Airshow !!!!

Hi All. I have just picked up another plotting board off evil bay. It was incomplete and I only bought it for the rules and arc on the underneath. But not mentioned at all in the listing under the cover is a 1943 dated map of Glen Imaal, the Irish army firing range. It has its last center of arc still marked on a celluloid cover. Nice piece of history that I will now have to complete and save.

I thought I would try to create an album of photos describing what fire commands mean.

We are hopefully going to be involved in a charity event with boots on the ground. Our Quad being pulled by man power from St Helens rugby ground to Warrington's rugby ground. Its still in the planning stages so a date is not 100% tied down. Lets hope that it can be made to work and get lots of publicity for a number of veterans charities.

Our thanks need to go to David Brown for organising the No mans Land event and to Chris Alsop for funding the transport. An event that I don't think could have gone better and one that I think we need to do again. The official Vid from you tube.

Our Story

The 69th Field Regiment is the North of England branch of the Garrison Artillery Volunteers (GAV), based in Lancashire. Originally established and organised in Yorkshire by Mike Peacock, who has since passed away, the Yorkshire section is now managed by Simon Daymond. 69th field maintains close ties with the other sections of the Garrison Artillery Volunteers all over the UK, and even abroad.

The role of 69th Field and the Garrison Artillery Volunteers as a whole is to protect and restore equipment, be it guns or vehicles, relating to the history of the Royal Artillery. Currently, we have three 25 Pounder Gun sets with 2 Canadian Quads, and a Morris Type 5 body available for our displays with 2 further 25 pounders, a 6 pounder, a 2 pounder and Morris Mk.3 Quad undergoing restoration. All our equipment is privately owned and maintained by our members, who are all volunteers and give up their time in order to enthusiastically share this very interesting piece of History. If you look through this page you will find photos and film of our past events, and see what we do.

We are always looking to recruit and train new members, and regardless if your an experienced reenactor , a veteran gunner, or a complete novice you are always welcome to join. If you fancy getting involved, just send us a message and we’ll be in touch.
