There’s a lot of talk at the moment about it “coming home”. My latest painting of our wonderful library has this week found a new home. I hope the new owner enjoys it as much as I enjoyed painting it.

Our local spaces, such as Ashton’s award winning Jubilee Park, are something to be proud of. I have painted here a couple of times. Here are the results.

Wouldn’t it have been better for the media to report from here, instead of reporting from the building site, which we call our high street.

Well, what a time to finish this painting!!

After the lovely response to my winter library painting, I’ve been waiting for the blossoms to appear so I could paint a spring view of our very special Carnegie Library.

I started this painting at the beginning of April, and it’s finally finished. I wanted to capture the warmth, light, and beauty of the library surrounded by spring colour.

I hope you enjoy this different perspective as much as I enjoyed painting it.

NEW ARTWORK

“Toscolano Maderno, Lake Garda”

Garda has many beautiful vistas to enjoy. I was taken by this particular view looking from the harbour of Toscolano Maderno towards the towering mountains. It was the depth of the view, along with the wonderful colours that drew me in. This painting celebrates what is an extremely beautiful area.

NEW YEAR, NEW ART

I’m starting the New Year with a completed commission piece. This 50 x 40 cm was ordered as a gift. It shows the now closed public house, “The Royal Oak Branch” in Warrington. I’m showing this with the kind permission of its new owner.
