Are you part of a cultural & heritage organisation based in Wigan Borough? Are you preparing an application to a funding organisation to support a public facing/community engagement programme?

Wigan Council has launched the Wigan Cultural Development Match Funding programme to provide local organisations and individuals with a percentage of the overall cost of their project.

Applications can be made anytime until March 2025, but there is a limited amount available, and funding is awarded on a “first come first serve” basis.

Applicants can submit a request for up to £2,000 per application.

GENERATOR – Reinventing theatre for the next generation

We are looking for the next generation of talent to join our performance company. Generator is ThickSkin Theatre’s brand-new performance company for young people aged 16+.

We are looking for ten performers to work with ThickSkin’s Artistic Director, Neil Bettles, to create and perform in an original production. This is an opportunity for performers from across the North West who are able to commit to weekly rehearsals in Wigan from 3 October and performances on 15 and 16 November.

All performers will receive honorarium payments, plus professional headshots, and advice about working in the industry.

Auditions will take place in Wigan on 15, 17 and 20 July

Massive Congratulations to Pemberton Old Wigan Brass Band for making it to the Finals in the Albert Hall! They came 3rd in a very strong competition in Blackpool and now head to the Grand Final.

✨ SHINE: will nurture and develop new talent and is open to anyone with an idea for a light artwork, and the skills to realise that idea. Artists will be awarded bursaries between £9,500 and £15,000 to realise ambitious new artworks which will appear at several of our LUTN festivals. Each artist also receives a full induction to the programme, as well as training and mentoring from across the LUTN partnership.

Deadline: Monday 29 April 2024, 9am.

✨ SPARK: open to new and emerging artists who want to develop light based and digital work for light festivals. You will be supported through workshops, networking and talks to complement two LUTN festivals, Light Up Lancaster and Light Night Wigan (Visit Wigan).
